.....................................

Funny how can be so different... as SSB was SHOCKED that they had me go home literally HOURS after major surgery. Tricky systems, for certain.

Good luck!

Oh...
My...
Gosh.

This is nuts. to you.

Man oh man! I sure hope he can get out of that strange hospital!

I understand your frustration a little- when DD had her appendix out we were given no specific timeline, only at least 7 days for the IV antibiotics. We knew she had to keep food down, her stomach kept distending because her bowels took a long while to "wake up", so she did not eat that whole week. On day 8 she had been on liquid diet for a day or so and keeping it down. Her abdomen was hard that morning- not good. They said that she had to keep food down before she could go home, so I was on the phone playing Pass the Two Year Old Around because it didn't look like she was leaving. At 4 PM they decided to giver her some Jello and before she got two bites in her mouth even, they said,

"Well, we will finish her antibiotic early tonight so she can go home by 7PM."

"Tomorrow?"

"nope, today"

"What????"

At least I got her home though and I swear she recovered faster!

holy smokes, what a mess. Is anyone organized or know what they are doing there?? I will be so glad when this is all over for you

How frustrating for you. I hope he is home and comfortable soon.

Just keep documenting and call the hot line with both guns blazing, your voice will be heard. Good luck and keep the faith, I am so sorry you have to deal with this. If you have any problems with the number, let me know.

Thanks! I've got it sitting right here next to me.. :)

I think I'd launch a complaint with the hospital about the rudeness of the staff, and then the incompetence! Ugh!

I have been thinking about you and your DH. I am truly sorry for all that you have been through.

I hope your DH gets home quickly and is feeling better.

What an emotional rollercoaster you have been on dealing with this hospital. Hopefully, soon it will be just a bad memory and your DH will be home safe and sound. Then you will be able to nurture him in the comfort of his loving home and family. Hang in there honey and try to keep the faith. I wish I was there to help you and your family, but for now, continued prayers coming from MD.

What a bunch of sick, twisted, power hungry idiots. I can't believe they can get by with this crap on a daily basis. All because of the people that don't have options.
They are making me mad, and I'm not the one dealing with them. I wish there was something I could do.

Know any "bad boys" ??? LOL

Where's a good hit man when you need one ??????? :earseek:

Actually, I do have some connections. :earseek:

Getting your hubby home and away from there is the most important thing.

I've got a question, and except for the fact that I don't think anyone would want them to "take care of your hubby" anymore.
Since his presenting problem is over. What's to stop you from getting him discharged, walking out the front door, and then turning back around and going back in with the swelling and painful leg problems?

I don't know how many more blows to his dignity he can take.. Shabby treatment like that tends to make a proud Marine war veteran feel pretty low.. :(

How terrible for you all to be treated like you have been! :sad2: I'm sending prayers and best wishes that your DH gets home ok and can recoup nicely at home.

Good luck with resolving everything with the VA hospital. You have gotten some good suggestions from everyone and I wish you all the best. No one deserves that kind of treatment!
