Is the 70's party still going on? Is it available on the 7 night eastern? What night is it? Sorry for all the questions!

On our 7-night Eastern in December, it was on Thursday night. We had a great time there. I'd say its worth doing.

Thanks, Señor Ferrari! Now maybe you can answer a couple more questions: Do people really dress up for this party? When I say dress up I mean in 70's attire, or do people go dressed in their semi formal? Thanks!:)

From what I've heard, it's mostly just the cruise staff that bother to dress up. Everybody else just goes to enjoy the old music.

This and the 50's and 60's Rock and Roll Party were two highlights of our April Eastern Magic Cruise.

No one (other than the Cruise Staff) came in costume though.

It was a blast.

Dave, what do you mean "old music"?:D My dinosaur bones are moving a bit slower these days! Honestly, I do laugh when I turn to the oldies station to hear "my music" from the 70's.
As for the 70's party, it is a lot of fun. CM's are dressed in polyester with big hair, platform shoes, etc. "John Travolta" made a guest appearance that night!

plutospup, it's music that takes most of us old folks back to a different time and place. I think they should start having 80's nights... there are lots of parents my age who graduated from high school in the early 80's... music from Journey, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, etc. would be a blast!

What's funny is to realize that current high school students will feel the same way about Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, N' Sync, Backstreet Boys, etc.

Dave's reply pretty much sums up my experience. The cruise staff dresses up. Most everyone else just comes as they are for the experience.

It is on the second formal night, but most, if not all of the passengers had switched back to casual before heading to the 70's party.

I have some photos from the 70s party on my website. It's GREAT fun...one of my favorite experiences. We never miss it! You'll love seeing your favorite &0s celebrities (John Travolta, Gloria Gaynor, and the Village People) too. :D

lol....as part of that age group i must say that while youre probably right, thats really sad! :p i cant believe my generation will be tied together with popy meaningless music.......(not that i dont like nsync....;) ).
but hey, its still better than 80s music! :smooth: no offense to all you young parents out there......

I was just sitting here reading this thread and listening to the song "Carribean Queen". Hey, I'll be a "carribean queen" in just two more days! Wow, rock'n'roll.

Does anyone know if they will keep 70's night on the Eastern and 8o's night on the Western. This would be a great idea. I am sure the cruise staff likes a little variety also!!!!

We are sailing on the Western on 8/3/02 and would love to enjoy 80's night!!!! I've seen the what the cruise staff wears for 70's night, what did they wear for 80's night?
