70 to Freezing in 7 hours. A Nov/Dec 2011 trip report. Updated 4/28

I'm so sorry you weren't having a good night! I don't understand why the CM wouldn't let people move up to the covered seating once they saw whoever it was reserved for wasn't coming. :confused3 And then, to be feeling bad on top of being cold & wet.....well, that's just no fun. I hope you were able to work in some additional Epcot time later in the week for you to see the storytellers.

We enjoyed what we saw despite the weather and feeling bad. That all just slowed us down a bit and tbh I think that none of the storytellers came out once the rain started that night I just didn't know that at the time.

First off I was looking at the tornado's in U.S. on the news tonight and hope that all dissers in those areas affected are safe. Sending pixie dust to you. :flower3:
We're safe here, but my sister and BIL live just down the road from a town that got absolutely leveled. The tornado was less than a mile from their house, but they didnt' have any damage. There was a lot of destruction in Southern Indiana on Friday.:sad2:

Ok, on to your TR... Congrats on beating your mom with a bigger pick a pearl!:thumbsup2

I remember that cold, rainy evening at Disney World. :rolleyes1

I'm glad you were able to see the Processional. It's a shame that the CM's held the closer seats open... probably for VIP's who decided it wasn't worth coming out in this weather.

Glad to here you're safe. That Tornado was shown on news over here and town Henryville? that was destroyed. Scary stuff. Glad your sis and BIL ok as well.

I didn't really mind it I just thought it was funny I beat her by half a mm lol

That wasn't a good evening weather wise. :sad2:

I dunno. I just thought it was weird that even just before show started they wouldn't let anyone sit there and they remained empty for the whole show.

My old dance school are now back from Paris and talking of going to Orlando next. I wanna go to Florida and Paris and California and on a cruise :rotfl:

Yes, Henryville was leveled. Very bad situation there. Several other smaller Towns in both Indiana and Kentucky were hit just as bad, but apparently a small town of 500 isn't add good of a news story as a town of 2000.

It was Henryville on the news over here. Saddest story they told was of a two year old found wandering a field and her entire family were wiped out :sad2: Poor kid. Prayers and pixie dust to everyone affected!

I'm so happy to hear that your family (including your sister & BIL) are all ok. It's just so sad. I'm terrified of tornadoes & can't imagine going through that. :sad2:

That was such a sad story! Have you heard about the mom who laid on top of her two kids in the basement to save them? The kids were completely unharmed but the mom lost both of her legs. But, I'm sure she's thankful to be alive & see her children grow up. Actually, they say if her son (I think he's 8) hadn't gone for help, she might not have made it. It's heart-wrenching to hear what so many people are going through.

The tornados looked like something from a movie not real life like.
That is so sad bout the mother losing her legs but at least they all survived.

Life update from the merry old land of college.. :rotfl:

So back in the tv studio for assessments next week. This lecturer incourages us to take pictures of everything we do (like I need incouragement 3000 plus pics from Florida 2011 like) but it's great. For our assessments next week we have to do a photoessay and one of the themes was travel so I'm going to use my World Showcase pics. That's technically travelling around the world right? :rotfl:

Also I started filming for my documentary today. OMG you do not realise what you're missing until you walk back into the middle of it then my heart melts and I wish I was there again. Music and irish dancing have been my life for the last ten or more years and I always walk away from both for life reasons but when I go back I realise just how much I miss them when I'm not there. I'm doing my tv doc on the musical society I was in preparing for their production of the Wizard of Oz (get the merry old land reference now?) I want to be there all the time and was there for two hours tonight and already have ho ho ho song stuck in my head! We got good footage tonight but I tried to put it on my computer with a different camera and no sound :scared1: I'm hoping it's just my camera because I did have headphones on at one point and sound was really loud so don't understand why it's not on the tape so fingers crossed with college cameras sound will show up :scared1:

I'm still trying to figure out a trip to Disney of some kind as well. Dancers just back and already started talking about Florida and I want to go with them. I suggested on my facebook status they do a reunion formation of past dancers. I think you should all go like my status maybe if lots of people like it they might do it :lmao: I miss that dance school. :sad2:

I shall be back soon with next Epcot update :)

That sounds like a great subject for your photoessay! :thumbsup2 At least it sounds like it should be relatively easy for you to put together.

Oh goodness, I sure hope the college cameras caught the sound. How fun that they are doing a production of the Wizard of Oz - I love that movie!

I sure hope you can get a Disney trip put together! Just go when my family is going - we could use a babysitter one night! :lmao: Just kidding! But, you never know, maybe your dance school will do some sort of reunion. Is there any chance you could rejoin them? :confused3

I shall be back soon with next Epcot update :)

Can't wait! :goodvibes

Yeah I just took all my pavillion pictures off my facebook yesterday and tried to narrow it down to ten pictures! I have 14 I think :goodvibes

Me to :scared1: I can still use the footage as cut aways if the sound didn't record but I hope it did because we got some nice bits like the chairman introducing the director to the cast and stuff so would be a pity to lose the sound on that. I really don't understand why it's not there because I could hear it loud and clear (sometimes to loud) in the headphones :confused3
Yeah Wizard of Oz is cool. I really wanted to be a munchkin but then didn't want to ask work for time to go to rehearsals as I only work two days as it is with college. Kinda sorry I didn't now though because I had to ask for the time to go to their rehearsals anyway. Oh well there's always next year I suppose!

I would go as a babysitter no bothers :) Woohoo excuse :rotfl: I dunno if I can go back to dancing or not it would be cool to because I miss that dance school.

I am so sorry about being wet and cold...they did the same thing to us about the seating upfront. The lady sitting next to us said it was for people that needed signing as well as the various choir directors for the people on stage. Our night, the seats did fill up, although not until after the performance started. I can't complain...our night was perfect and we really did have great seats! I love Michael W. Smith!

Sounds like you are busy with school...I hope the project turns out okay and the sound issues are fixed!

I hear you already trying to plot for a trip back. I know that I am going with a group of DISfriends in 20 months...but that is just too long.

The rain ruined alot of things but we kept going. I'd never heard of Michael W. Smith until i looked up candlelight processional and then I looked him up.

Yeah it's a little busy we seem to be getting a good few days off though which helps alot :scared1: and I managed to get a short clip on computer I have sound but it will need to be worked on to bring up the volume. Think my video camera is different format to college camera so need to put the stuff on my computer with college camera instead.

I need to book a disney trip but nobody wants to go with me :scared1: I could go to Florida solo but I think then i would feel safer staying on Disney property but that's expensive.

Day 5, part 8:
So once we left Mexico the rain had eased to a drizzle so we decided to head up to see where this VIP seating for Illuminations was. It was on French Island and there was zero protection from the rain so we kept going towards England and went off to the right beside some little chip shop place where there was benches. This is a Momma grump now but there was two teenagers on one of the benches and several bags and Momma went to sit and the two told her that they were saving the bench for someone it wasn't until closer to the fireworks that the people the bench was being saved for came back. That annoyed Momma.
We stood beside a pole though that had a big banner on it and the banner gave a little protection from the rain and we decided to stick out Illuminations mainly because if we didn't see it now we definately would not get back to see it. The view was very good from where we were standing and we got the added bonus of Christmas Illuminations being at the end which we weren't expecting and can I just say WOW! That is amazing! Anyway pics most of these are from the video and may not be in order but you get the idea:

Once the fireworks ended we fought our way to the entrance to catch the bus and made it just on time for the 10:05 bus which we weren't expecting. We got back to our hotel went straight to bed Momma wishing for rain to go away and new set of feet and myself dreaming of Italien waiters :rotfl:
I did take a pic later in the week of my purchases from that day as well:

You can see my pearl carraige and that Vinylmation smells like marshmallows. The lucky cats are cool they have a few colours and each colour means something different as the next pic shows:

Next up: I think I died and went to cupcake heaven!

What a bummer about the rain. I can feel the cold feet and drizzle as you described it. I think I would've left the shop if my Mom shopped for 2 hours. :rotfl: I am glad she went back and got you the track pants. She probably knew exactly where they were after shopping the store for 2 hours. LOL!

I must admit, last spring we were in Mouse Gears for quite some time too, and Claire was a trouper.

Momma likes shopping she just couldn't decide what she wanted. Normally I don't mind disney shopping for that long (only disney though) but that night I wasn't feeling it and was thinking of everything we were missing. Then she got the t-shirt and when she walked out she said she thought she had it already. I never asked her since she got home was it the same or was it just similar must ask her when she's home again.

The tracksuit bottoms helped a bit with the cold and then the poncho kept in some heat but my socks were soaked through because I'd only crocks on so I had to take them off and put up with the water coming into the crocks it was better that squelchy socks though.

I'm so glad that y'all were able to see Illuminations! And how nice that y'all were able to catch a bus right away.

Your purchases from that day are very cute!

Rain at Disney, my least favorite thing I think. :grouphug: I Love your purchases, especially the lucky cats! I need a few of those! (Or a truckload). I love your pearl carriage necklace as well! :goodvibes And the pics you took of illuminations were amazing! :flower3:

I am so glad that you stuck it out for Illuminations...after our CP we thought about it, but it was a long day and we just went back to the resort. I had planned it for another day, but was said to miss the holiday part of the show!

:banana:So glad you got a bus straight away...that help end the day on a better note...hopefully your momma got to sit down for a spell!

I like your idea of a dance school reunion trip. You really need to get with some of the dancers who were in it with you and start promoting this idea.:thumbsup2

I'm glad you were able to see Illuminations, despite the less than spectacular weather. I love the Christmas part at the end.

Thank you. Yeah it was cool esp because we thought we were going to have to pay for taxi. We saved pennies to spend on other Disney stuff instead :rotfl:

Most of the Illuminations pics were from the video footage. I like that I caught the globe pics where it's showing Ireland though :goodvibes The Rain did ruin things a bit but I was determined not to leave the park. I thought the lucky cats were cute as well and love the pearl carraige. I got the carraiges on ebay because it was alot cheaper than buying them there. I think it was like 6 dollars for two pearl carraiges on ebay.

I was constantly trying to work ahead in my head schedule wise and there wouldn't have been any other time to go see it we would have to give up something else that we wanted to see so I'm glad we did stay esp because the Christmas bit was at the end. I have it on video but there are so many fireworks going off at once it turns to white light at one point it was a crazy amount of fireworks but so cool!

That did help and I think Momma fell into bed that night.

I like that idea as well but I really don't think it will happen :( I just really want to go with them plus they got shiny new tracksuits and I really want one of those as well.

I'm glad you were able to see Illuminations, despite the less than spectacular weather. I love the Christmas part at the end.
It was worth staying for illuminations for the christmas part alone!
