Hi all, so after all my life wanting to go to Disney Florida I have FINALLY managed to convince my partner that its going to be the best thing since sliced bread and we are going for our 7th civil partnership anniversary.

we go on holiday every anniversary and have a nice meal in a nice restaurant, its always very apparent its our anniversary. we don't kiss in public ect... but we might touch hands or (I think you can just tell people are a couple by looking, especially on our anniversary)

I want to spend our anniversary in Cinderella's Royal Table, what better way to celebrate than in a castle right?! I heard you can book anniversary packages or sometimes if they know its your anniversary give you a special anniversary book. I really like the sound of this but wonder how DISNEY are with recognising anniversaries with civil partners.

On a side note any problems with being LGTB?
Thank you

(When I got married my Mum said (she loves me wife) the one thing she is sad about is that we may face prejudice and we might not get to do things 'normal' people do...... this has never happened in the time we have been together... this is the first time im thinking 'what if')

I know they've recently opened up the Wedding Pavilion to same sex couples, even though same-sex marriage isn't legal in Florida. I can't imagine that any of the other Disney facilities would be a problem. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and engagement at Victoria and Albert's last October, and the staff was nothing but welcoming and congratulatory; they even comped us two glasses of really expensive champagne.

Our second date was to Epcot F&W so we go back every year to celebrate our anniversary. We have booked many tables for special occasions and have never had issues.

My only thought is that at Cinderellas Table you will be outnumbered by kids, so I guess you might have some stares from parents. As long as you can roll with it, and not let it bother you.

At some of the more "adult" restaurants it wouldn't be a problem at all.

Congrats on your celebration! Make sure you pick up anniversary buttons to wear in the park! You can get them at Guest Services at all of the parks. You will be surprised at how many people will stop and congratulate you both.

We celebrated my 50th birthday a few years ago  with dinner at CRT. There were certainly families there but kids did not outnumber adults. Breakfast and lunch, definitely, but I think fewer families (with at least small kids) plan for dinner there. Have a wonderful time!

My partner and I have been going (nearly) every year to WDW since 1997. We are opening "out" although we don't do any PDAs (public displays of affection) while when out in public. That just how we are, it's not out of fear of being rejected. Our anniversary is Dec. 13 and we often go to WDW the first week of December. We have mentioned our anniversary to many cast members and always get a resounding congratulations.

We have been to Cinderella's RT twice and thought the food was quite good, and the princesses were fun. It's fun to watch the kids interacting with them. They were all very attentive to us too.

My partner and I ate at Cindy's way back in 2000 or 2001. Even then they didn't bat an eye at the two chicks holding hands at their table. The waiter even made jokes about fairies. It was a wonderful night! Disney is awesome with LGBT; just no guarantee about visitors. But CMs will generally use the pixiedust to make you feel comfortable. If you are able to request it, the table for two by the windows during the fireworks, INCREDIBLE! Congrats and have fun!
