7 seater SUV

We are getting close to thinking about booking our car for Feb for our party of 6.

We will be getting two cars but were going to get our one as a 7 seater SUV so that if we are all together at night at least we've got the option of all goign in one car.

My point is that reading all the blurb on the broker sites such as Airlien network, USrentcar etc etc it never really makes it clear what sort of SUV you get.

To guarantee a 7 seater will we have to book direct with a provider or can we stipulate with any of the brokers?

Both Airline network and usrentacar tells you in the description/next to the car how many it seats and how many bags will fit.
Just had a look over on usrentacar and it states 4x4 7 seater next to the picture.

we have just booked a 7 seater through holiday autos for using from this friday, there price was the cheapest after trawling through all the websites.

It can often depend on the rental company, Dollar for example use either a Chrysler Voyager or Dodge Caravan - essentially the same car, with a few minor differences.
Other companies may use a Kia or equivelant.

The thing is we really don't want a van. The whole idea of a SUV was to have a bit of fun and if we could guarantee a 7 seat one at not too much more cost then that would suit all parties.

Looks like the reply from penlanspice fits the bill so far. It was jsut that we didn't want to turn up and they say " Sorry guys, run out of SUV's but here's a nice big bus to run around in for 2 weeks"

Just back yesterday and had a 7 seat SUV booked with usrentacar/Alamo

On arrival at Alamo there were no 7 seat SUV on the lot to choose from, the whole place was really busy, but a member of staff took my husband over to another area (might have been executive aisle or National) and he came back quickly with a Saturn Outlook he also had a choice of a Jeep Commader he thinks.

The Saturn was a great car with plenty space for the six of us.

While my husband was away collecting the Outllook they did try to fob me off with a minivan saying we would have more room for luggage but I think they were trying to get rid of the dozen vans they had kicking about.

The one that Sam recommends earlier could be a 'Chevrolet Extended Trailblazer' 7 seater or equivalent, available through Alamo.

I've been doing some research into this for us for next year as we need plenty of luggage space - 3 sets of golf clubs as well as suitcases, but there are only 4 adults.

As far as I can tell, all of the SUV's you can book will have 7 seats. Naturally with all 7 up, you'll have little luggage space. Certainly, the people I have been looking at have all had SUV's of that size.

We had an SUV a couple of year back - think the 6th and 7th seats were fold away ones in the boot so if there's only 4 of you you can fold them away and have more room for luggage! That was with Alamo........
