can you only make reservations 7 or 11 months out, or can you go on a spur of the moment trip, if there are rooms available. And can you get a room a month out? Also, is there a set point chart for the different resorts around the country that you can go to? Thank you for your help!

11 months is when you can start booking your home resort. At 7 months you can start booking any resort. If rooms are available, you can book 1-2 months out if you want.

At the top you will see DVC Point Charts . Click that and it will give you a list of all the resorts, along with their costs. This is only for the WDW DVC resorts, as well as info on DL plus the other WDW hotels.

We have booked a room on points during the day for that night, so don't worry about last minute trips not being possible. If a room is available, DVC will be happy to accept your points.

You can book pretty spur of the moment. We have booked as close as 3 weeks in advance, in June and September.

Just don't plan on the holidays, Food & Wine Festival, school holidays, etc, to make a reservation one month out. It might happen, but the odds are against you. We tried to get early June about a month ago at BCV and it was sold out, no studios, no one bedrooms.
