You will all think I'm crazy, but we were just going to go to WDW for four nights because we get worn out. The kids (age 5 and 10) will get tired and whiny and our feet will hurt. Yet this Fairy Tale Fantasy (?) package sounds great and I think we could find ways to relax through the week. My hubby is not buying in:( . Any ideas to convince us to stay the whole 7 days? Ideas for relaxation in between? Thanks.:jester:

Well, tell your husband to look at it this way (which is how we would look at it):

You can still tour the 4 days. But now you can rest on day 5 (pool day, sleeping in, DTD, etc) and then you have rested up and now have 2 more days to see the parks

I'd also tell your husband 4 days just isn't enough to really 'appreciate' the parks, and 7 days is just starting to get there. If your kids are like my DD, you like to go back to the parks to do more stuff/do rides again.

Good luck!

You just can't beat that deal, even if you lay around for 3 days.

You could spend days at the pool, go to downtown disney to do some shopping. Or just go to the parks in the morning and swim and relax in the afternoon. Maybe go back to the parks later in the evening.

Going to the other resorts to look around is fun, ride the monorail ask to sit up front with the driver.

Don't know how far you are traveling? Is it by plane or car? Would it really be worth it to stay for only 4 days?

Have a wonderful vacation.

Welcome to the DIS!!!

For us, 7 nights is not long enough!!!! Think of this, you don't have to do the parks so commando style where the kiddos complain! Take a break every afternoon for down time and go back refreshed!!! The offer is just too good; go for it!!!!!!!!

We do "half days" only.

(ie)

Either go to the parks for opening at stay till 3pm max - then back to the hotel for pool & rest.

or

Sleep in.. have a nice breakfast, relax at the pool and do not even think of leaving the hotel till 3-4pm.

And this is every day! No sore feet no whiny kids,, you get some rest and see everything you want to see.

Then see how it goes... if suddenly you have more energy then play mini putt or go shopping at DD. With 7 days you can play it by ear.

>>^..^<<

Don't feel like you HAVE to go into the parks every day.
Here is how we usually spend our Disney 7 night vacations.

1 Day for Arrival.

4 Major Park Days

1 Water Park Day

1 Day Off

1 Day for Departure

On the non-park days, you can shop, swim, sleep in, go to another resort for dinner (we like to got to the 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian to see how the "other half" lives. ;) ), you can mini-golf, sleep. :)

I hope that you can convince your DH. 4 days at WDW is nice. 8 days are much better! :)

7 days would be WAY too short!!

We have done a couple of 8 day trips that didn't last long enough:(

Tell your hubby that even 7 nights is not enough for Disney World.
Trust me if you only go for 4 instead of more you will regret it.

Next time I go it has to be 10 nts at least.:D

How about this do 2 days , the rest day , 2 more days , then rest day, then 1 last day to go back and do whatever you wanted to do more of. On rest days you could lay by the pool, go mini golfing, go to TL (it is included in UPH in the pkg.) , go to other resorts to sightsee and do penny presses, do FW campfire singalong at night, petting zoo at FW, Go into Orlando and do some amusments there, Sleep in til 9-10 :) (this is a biggy with my DH who if doesn't get enough sleep turns into Grumpy),
Play in the pool, just be lazy one day . Or if you are like me, do lazy things durring rest days but go back in the parks just to see the parades and fireworks in the late evening. You will be surprised at how much more you enjoy it fully rested. :p

I've been going to Disney for the last 15 years and occasionally have stayed for 2 weeks at a time. I STILL have not done everything!

Welcome to the DIS!!!!!

I can see how you can get so tired after rushing around for 4 days!!!! If you go for 7, you don't have to rush around. Sit back, relax and.... sleep in!!!!! The best memories we have are the ones of us just walking the grounds of Port Orleans, enjoying a sundae at Ghiradellis (DD), taking in a round of golf or our mid-afternoon nap. I cannot imagine cramming that into 4 days.

I also would suggest the park 1 day, then a rest day. When we get these packages the tendancy is to try to get our money's worth and go to a park every day, all day. Try to resist that temptation. We've been for 5 days and were exhausted. Last trip was 7 nights/8 days. Much better. This trip...8 nights/9 days!! We plan to be in parks in the morning. REsting at lunch by the pool. Back to parks for the evening. Pace yourself. This is too good a deal to pass up. Go for the 7 nights. You'll be glad you did.

LOL!!! :p

I just barely managed to convince DH (who has never been to WDW) to stay NINE nights! That wasn't easy!

...and I still wish we could stay longer. ;)

No it is not too long. We had our 9 night stay planned for OKW, but just could not pass up the FT package so we added 7 more nights (Poly LV concierge!)for a total of 16 nights. We never run out of things to do, there is soooo much!!!!! We love not having to rush, take our time and really enjoy all of Disney. I think you will have a wonderful time. Take time to really "smell the roses".

Have a Wonderful Magical Vacation!!!

I also would do the 1/2 days. My kids are up REAL early so we do morns...then a break...then something in the eve. Even if we only go to another hotel for dinner & a walk around.

7 days are NOT enough for ME!!!

Hey,

I've heard people say that before and never understood it but now I think I do. Your husband is thinking just of going to the parks instead of looking at it like a vacation.

I don't know if you are driving or flying but either way that is a long way to go for 4 days of commando style touring. Of course everyone will be whiney and tierd. 7 days will give you time to enjoy the parks, waterparks and maybe go over to the Boardwalk area one night or Downtown Disney. Maybe you could let the kids go to a kid's club one night and you and hubby could go for a nice dinner at one of the resorts or EPCOT.

Good Luck!
