7 night Med...port excursion tips

Am having a lovely time dreaming about the lovely places we will see on our holiday this summer. Have checked out the Disney excursion prices which made me gulp somewhat! We'll need to seriously watch our budget, does anyone have any tips? I'm thinking that in Naples we could get a ferry to either Sorrento or Capri and in Villefranche we could just stay around the town or get a train to Nice. What do people think of these plans? Would it be stressful or would we be missing out on seeing other essential places? Might splurge on a Disney excursion to Rome and Pisa as have never been there before.

If you club together with other cruisers and book private tours you will save money, we did for say Rome and Cinque Terrie. We did a private tour in every port.

We're doing the Mediterranean in June on CCL. Several of the people in our cruise meet pacebook page recommend italytoursharing.com they've used them on several trips to Europe. We're booked on a few of their excursions for great prices. If you go to their website you can look at the ports you're there each day and see if there are any excursions you can join or you can start your own. Just my $.02

Cruisecritic is a great place for BDTD port excursion info. TripAdvisor for looking at all your choices. We did private tours for half our baltic DCL cruise and half DCL excursions. We all voted the private tours were better, hands down. More flexible, way less people, much better experience all around.
