7 month window

My family and I are using our DVC membership for the 1st time this July. We bought at SSR and booked a 3 day cruise and 6 nights at our "home". We have been at WDW 2 previous times as non DVC members, and have visited pretty much all the resorts. We were just wondering how difficult it would be to get into the other resorts at the 7 month window for a summer vacation. My DW is a teacher and we have 2 DD's who are in grade school so summer is the best time for us. Info on all the DVC resorts, including VB and HHI would be great. Thanks.

Congratulations, and enjoy your first trip home! Today MS is still opened, why don't you call to see what's available for your dates. There seems to be pretty good availability at 7 months for the summer months from what I am reading here. VB is hard to book for the summer at less than 7 months. I have a Beach Cottage and 2 OVIR's booked for a stay beginning June 22nd. In December, I called and got a GV room for the same dates, but when I called 3 weeks ago, even all GV rooms were booked.

We own at HHI and always book at wdw DVC without a problem. We are bretty flexible though. We knew at this time we were fine with that. When we add points on however we want to wait until we are sure that CRV is going to open and Buy there because we would want to stay there and would use the 11 month window or wiould buy where we would find it hard to book. Maybe Boardwalk? OKW SSR and AKV have not been an issue at all yet.

At the 7 month mark, you should be able to find something. Certain times of the year (Christmas, etc) and certain room types (AKV club level, etc) will be difficult.

Believe it or not, the summer months are esier to book at 7 months than most of the other months. Do call as soon as the 7 month window opens for the largest choice of resort and unit size.
