7 month window vs. 11 month window-july

I am considering a dvc membership but need some advice.
We are considering BCV or SSR. SSR because of the 12 extra years and proximity to DD BCV for proximity to epcot,mgm and of course SAB. I am just wondering if it is difficult to get either resort for July at the 7 month vs 11 month window so I can better decide which to make my home. Any advice would be appreciated

is BCV available for sale? i thought DVC membership is only for SSR right now?

Since SSR is going to be the largest resort, I doubt you would ever have a problem booking rooms there at the 7 month window. At BCV, you are very likely to run into occassions when you try to book at 7 months and it be full and you have to waitlist.

If you definately have to have BCV, you will want that 11 month advantage.

You can watch for BCV on the resale market, there are usually a couple of listings out there. You can also check with DVD to see if they have any availability to purchase direct. You can buy points at sold-out resorts direct as long as they have points available in their inventory. The current cost for those points is $92 and if you aren't already a member, there would still be the minimum buy-in amount of 150 points.

You can buy into DVC via resale, (like TSS), or you can tell your DVC guide that you only want a specific resort and if it's available, you can buy it direct. You may have a wait list, but your guide should get it for you.

After January 31, 2042 , you won't be able to get into any resort at 7 months if you purchase at BCV now. SSR owners will still have the ability to use their points then.

The extra 12 years may be important depending on your ability to travel at that time and should be considered when making the purchase now.
