7 month window questions

1. What exact time at the 7 month window can you start booking? Midnight? 8am? Eastern time zone?

2. Are you better off using the online tool vs the phone, or vice versa?

3. If I already have 5 days booked/2 days waitlisted, do I have to cancel those before I make the new booking? I'm reluctant to lose my bird in the hand until I'm sure I get the 7 month back up plan. Can I make the 7 month booking, then cancel the partial booked/partial wait list? I have to bank 3 months before the trip, so I really can't afford to wait until the 30 day waitlist mark.

Obviously this is all new to me, so TIA for the help.

Online booking opens at 8am, while the phones open at 9am, so there is a benefit to booking online.

It sounds like you're vacationing in the last month of your use year, which is really risky as you've noticed by the banking deadline. You have to have the points available when you make the booking. If all your points are tied up, you'll have to cancel first. If the new booking uses fewer points, you may end up with some stranded in your current use year.

If you need to use points from the first reservation to make the new one, then you will need to cancel the first one before making the second one.
