I know there has been alot of talk on the board about the switch over to RCI so this may be a repeat topic, sorry if it is but here is my question. With DVC we can book non-home resorts at 7 months out. RCI can book 10 months out. Will someone who owns another timeshare be more likely to get their choice of resorts over me?

This is what put the idea on my mind. We own a timeshare in Vermont, we have two weeks, we always use the "home" week and bank the floating week. I had to call RCI to book my week for Feb 2010 and the rep asked can I help you with anything else. So I inquired about Hilton Head DVC and she gave me availability for Sept 2009, DVC wouldn't give me that info now and I wouldn't be able to book it yet. See what I am saying.

Does someone have to "deposit" their points from Hilton Head to make that resort available? :confused3

I can't beleive nobody has info or input on this. Is there another thread I can look at with this info?

Not really. Member-owned inventory can't go to RCI unless some Member wishes to exchange their own points for something in RCI. Cash/CRO inventory is also advertised through RCI. RCI members don't have full access to DVC rooms, someone (either a Member or CRO) has to give it to them.

This works just the same way it did for II. There should be no change.
