Booked AKV for August 2009 at our 7 month window today! I'm very excited about this stay as we have always wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We decided on a standard view one bedroom in Jambo House. The newness of Kidani was very appealing, but the idea of being able to walk down to Boma, Jiko, Mara and the gift shop in air conditioned comfort during the heat of August was very appealing to us. Also, I'm really looking forward to the festive atmosphere inside of the lodge. We figure we can make the trip to the Kidani Village pool if we really want ... most likely, my kids will be happy with AKL pool.

I booked a standard studio in Jambo for a solo June trip for the same reasons that you chose Jambo. However, the whole family will be staying in Kidani for 1 night in May after our DCL cruise, so I figure that my curiosity about Kidani will be satisfied. Because of the dedicated 2 bedrooms that Kidani has and Jambo doesn't, Kidani will be where we stay with the DGC and rest of family. I do like Jambo and eating at Boma/Jiko, and yes, I enjoy the convenience of Mara!

Congrats on your ressies!:cool1:

My 7 mo. window opened this morning and I was unsuccessful in getting either a 2BR, Kidani, SV for 8-16 to 8-23 or a Kidani GV for 8-16 to 8-21.
I am waitlisted :hourglass for the 2BR though. Meanwhile, I am happy with my 2BR-PV @ BWV for August. We stayed there in August 06 and loved the proximity to the parks and other resorts.:flower3:

Great!! It's also encouraging for me as I would like to stay at all of the DVC resorts and will have to book at 7 months out except for AKV- my Home Sweet Home!!:thumbsup2

Booked AKV for August 2009 at our 7 month window today!

We did the exact same this morning - switched from OKW HH 2BRV + OKW HH Studio to Jambo House Savannah Views for both. We have never been to AKV either and are looking forward to staying there. Maybe we will see you there !!!

I'm sorry you couldn't get your ressie today, but I'm hoping the waitlist comes through for you!pixiedust:

We have 6 nights in a preferred view studio at BWV over Spring Break. We have never stayed at an Epcot area resort and I'm really looking forward to trying out the location. We have made ADR's at Cape May Cafe', 50's Primetime and Le Cellier ... all restaurants we've never tried but that seem relatively "convenient" to BWV. Our home resort is VWL, but I transferred in a bunch of OKW points from another member, so we are using those points at the 7 month window to try other resorts.

Cool!:thumbsup2 We will be there with our misting fans ready for action! I anticipate a lot of time spent at the pool as well ... we've never stayed at a Disney resort with a zero entry pool and I'm sure my girls will love it! I'm so excited about this trip. We are spending 7 nights at AKV and following it up with a 4 night cruise on the Wonder ... our longest family vacation ever. I'm feeling relaxed just thinking about it!!!

I wish we had enough points to book savannah view ... but I think we will be fine with a pool view (and since we've never had a savannah view, we won't know what we are missing, right?!).

Here's a little more encouragement: we were also able to book preferred view studio at BWV during Spring Break (week prior to Easter) at 7 months. There were no boardwalk views or standard views available, but I wasn't expecting one and didn't even waitlist.

This will be our first stay at AKV and we are looking forward to staying there and seeing the animals and so forth. We have only eaten at AKL and have never stayed. When we were planning this out, we decided Savannah was a requirement as we don't plan on staying at staying at AKV frequently and thought it would be great way to take in the whole experience of AKL/AKV. I am just so greatful we were able to get exactly what we wanted without issue or waitlisting. I was very concerned before hand as we wanted a 2 BRV + studio which I thought might be difficult to get both in Jambo with Savannah.

Also, I was reading on another thread on the "dvc planning" board of people being told to call back at 11 am this morning after being on hold for 40 mins beginning at 9am as the system was down this morning. Guess we both had some luck and/or pixie dust on our side and got our reservations in before the glitch occurred. I do plan on calling back tomorrow to make sure nothing happened to change what was done this morning to be safe. You may want to do the same just to be certain.

You'll love staying at BWV over spring break! It will be especially convenient with the high-crowd levels;you'll be able to walk home from Epcot. There is so much to do, see and eat; all within walking distance. Your dining choices are great too. Have you tried Yachtsman Steak House? OMG-YUMMY:thumbsup2

I must have been one of the lucky ones this morning as well. I called exactly at 9 and got through right away. My transaction went smoothly, but my cancellation #'s and confirmation #'s weren't coming up. I was put on hold for a while. MS appologized several times for the inconvenience. I told her I didn't mind because I have no where to go today. School for my kids has been cancelled for the last 2 days because the wind chills were -30 degrees :scared1: I told MS I would go and grab another cup of coffee :coffee: and we could wait together until her computer was cooperating.

pixiedust: to everyone who still needs to get through!

I tried to book Kidani 1 bed Savannah view for August this morning and there was no availability........asked if they had a 2 bed............but no joy there either! So, am waitlisted for the 1 bed and in the meantime changed our ressie from BWV to BCV, so not all bad!! ha! ha!

Well, I hope your one bedroom waitlist comes through!pixiedust: I will say that BCV doesn't sound too shabby! LOL! I was actually kind of hoping for BCV back in the summer of 2008 when we started planning this trip, but DH really wanted to try AKV and he won me over!

Thanks for the pixie dust...... but as you say BCV not too bad at all! Every cloud has a silver lining!!

Last Friday we switched from a 2BR at the BCV to a 2BR AKV savannah view-August 7-14. MS said there were 5 2BRs available for that time period. At the time I was hoping someone waiting for the BCV would get their week! We love the BCV, but my husband was really anxious to stay in the AKV this time. We used the developer points to add two days at SSR at the end of our week-it looks like a beautiful resort and a great place to relax. :)

We booked a 1 bedroom and a studio both sav view at the 7 month mark for June 7 thru the 14th. I was shocked to say the least when my wife said they were both avaliable. :cool1:
