7 Month change to AKV?

Hi all! Just planning/getting ready to book our 4th of July trip next year. We want to stay 9 nights - we have enough points to do so at our home resort VWL in a 1br... my question is, what do you think the availability will be at the 7 month window to change the front 4/5 nights of the trip (starting on the 3rd) to a 1BR @ Animal KIngdom? My kids will LOVE it there!!

I think I'd book AK at 11 months for you and trade rooms. (j/k)

All kidding aside, I can't imagine much trouble booking a 1BR at Kidani at 7 months. The 4th is busy everywhere so I'd do it as soon as I could just to make sure though. If you're talking about Jambo House, you can probably forget that one.

- funny how we are excited to stay at non-home resorts -ehh? My heart it @ wilderness (always has been) but I want to branch out!!!

One of them have 2 bathrooms, right? Kidani? I've never even been to the lodge (which is just crazy as i've been like a bazillion times!)

As long as you are not seeking club level or value rooms, you will easily be able to get AKV at 7 months out at that time. Savanna and standard view were still open at 6 months out for July 4 time in 2012 and 2013.

We've switched from our home resort to AKV a number of times at 7 months without a problem.

OP make sure to book at your home resort now. Our upcoming cruise with our GD, didn't book a placeholder reservation at one of home resorts, thinking mid-January was quiet timebut didn't factor in the marathon being so popular with DVC members! uh oh wound up redeeming myself after I booked AoA Little Mermaid rooms for one night pre cruise.

Thought I'd wind up stuck booking something else after the cruise thru CRO but was able to grab @ AKV Jambo 1 standard and 1 value studio. Found out my waitlist came thru this week and now have two values, hoping that ups our chances for one 'view'.

I've booked a studio at AKV at around 4 months several times. And 1 BRs are supposed to be even easier to book (room capacity vs. points needed, I think is why). So I'd be REALLY surprised if you had any difficulty.

Granted it is for September after Labor Day, so not a high demand time, but my parents were able to book AKV - Kidani, Savannah View studio 60 days out (booked after July 4th).

So, as long as you don't want Value, Convcierge and/or Standard you should be fine. And, standard may be available, too. Never know.
