Hi everyone! Dh and I finally decided on what resort we want to try for on our 7th month mark. We currently have 6 nights at BLT booked but would love to try something new. We are hoping for a Boardwalk view studio starting September 5 but after reading around here I have a feeling that will be hard to get. We were considering BCV for location but we never use the pool and really would like someplace with a great view for us to just chillax on the balcony. I heard views at BCV were nothing to write home about. I just don't know what to pick if BWV is unavailable. :-/ what about AKV savanna view? Opinions needed! (FYI, we are planning on going to Night of Joy and also spend a lot of time in epcot)

Boardwalk view at 7 months seems unlikely, esp near Labor Day weekend? But that BW view IS incredible.

The views at BLT can be really nice, the Lake view anyway. Some BCV ones are ok, if you are high enough up, over the trees. I love the Savannah view at AKL. There are nice views at WLV, we had one where we could see the water pageant thing go by....

Thanks patmcduck. We will be going the weekend after labor day. I didn't even think of that. We have stayed at BLT the past few trips and do love it there. We had a MK view last year and wow. That's all I can say. It was great. We just thought we might want to try something new. I didn't think about VWL. That might be a good second or third choice. do you prefer Jambo or kidani savanna view? I tend to want Jambo because it is closer to food and the main lodge but I read that kidani is nicer? Idk. I think I might be thinking to hard about this. I just want to make sure I get my ducks in a row before booking day on the 5th. :)

Because you can get a lower savannah view at Kidani, that may be a reason to choose Kidani over Jambo. I generally pick Jambo for studios because the Mara is there, and Kidani for larger villas because of the extra bathroom.

I'm here in Jambo now, pool view. My DFs and I have had a wonderful resort day seeing loads of animals at all of the Savannahs and taking part in the cultural and animal activities.

All 3 views at BWV are currently available for those dates. It doesn't mean they will stay that way but you only have a couple of weeks to go before you can book. I don't think BWV is popular for early September, it's more end of September when F & W starts.

Thanks bobbiwoz! Because it is just DH and I think we would be better off in a Jambo studio. I like being near the food! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your stay!

Thanks for looking into that for me DebbieB! I tried but it wouldn't let me see the availability because I'm not there yet. I'm so happy to to hear they are currently available even though that can change very quickly!

It it is then DH and I fully believe in being silly!! :goodvibes (We only do studios for the 2 of us as a last resort).

My mother and I are going down for 3 nights prior to my dh and my ds meeting us. We plan on getting a 2 bedroom at BLT for just the two of us and then moving over to BWVs (4 of us) in a 2 bedroom.

I rented out the last of my 2011 points today (64 points) and have points left in 2012 that we will just use up.

So, we are 2 of us staying in a 2 bedroom...GO ME :lmao:

Would it be silly for us to get a one bedroom just for the two of us?

Who's to say what is silly. It depends on the points you have and future use. If the points are not an issue, and if it will make you happier than do it. If you can bank the extra points, or use them later on for something you want to do then maybe it seems silly to "waste" the extra points.

For me, I wouldn't get the 1 br for just my wife and I, but we are buying 125 pts, so I'm planning all the ways to stretch them as far as we can. But if your points will go unused then heck yeah do the 1 br. Only you can decide what is best with YOUR points. I'm a firm believer in NOT telling others what to do....unless it comes to controlling their bratty kids :rotfl:

Thanks everyone! We are definitely going to do a one bedroom. We asked another family who has mentioned wanting to take a trip with their 3 year old if they would want to come with. I'm so excited!

I bought DVC specifically for a 1 bedroom for my Mom and I. I think a 1 bedroom and larger is the beauty of DVC. She used to call it "our apartment". My Mom has since passed away but I still do 1 bedrooms with 1 or 2 friends at BWV. I also like VGC but because of the higher points, I can only swing a studio.

Well I'm glad to hear other families of 2 get one bedrooms. We figure this way if this other family comes we have enough room but it won't be too big if it is just dh and I. We will probably just stick with BLT. We love it there and the family we asked has never been to Wdw so I think that would be a great experience for them with the monorail and proximity to MK. Also I read BLT and AKV are the only one bedrooms that have the sleeper chair for the fifth person. So that pretty much settled all of our debate.
