7 month availability for Hilton Head in May ?

Does anyone know whether it is difficult to get a reservation for a one bedroom at Hilton Head at the 7 month window for mid to late May? My husband and I just got back from a no kids getaway to AKV and Vero and decided that we need to do this every year! So we are thinking about Hilton Head for next May (2010). It would have to be mid to late May when our oldest is home from college.

I did that for HHI for this coming May. I called right at the 7 month window and got around the 15th. Not sure about late May. The southern schools start getting out about then and that probably increases reservations.

Your biggest issue will be the 1BR. My understanding is that there are very few 1BR's at HHI. I haven't been able to get one (tried for our Oct trip there), but had no problem getting a 2BR for the same dates.
