Where is a good spot to access the 7 mile beach? Or do you have to pay to use one of the hotel's facilities. Any recommendations?

did u know 7 mile beach is only 5.5 miles long........
several people have said that they took a cab and went to a spot near a hotel and had a great day ... the cab driver even returned to pick them up and they did not pay him until the way back... now if some one could just tell u the name of the resort

We just got back from out 7-day western... (Had a great time!)

On the way to the boat for our snorkeling tour, the driver pointed out that every so many yards (maybe one every block), there is an entrance to 7 mile beach for the public. There is a sign on the side walk for each path. The path is right off the side walk and will lead you to the beach so you don't even have to go through the hotels to get to it. He was nice enough to pull up to the beach and let us walk around a little bit. The whole streach is beautiful.

We returned for the Western Magic 1 week ago and went to 7 mile beach. When you get off the tender in Grand Cayman, there was a man there holding a sign for anyone who wanted to go to 7 mile beach. There were enough people who wanted to go to fill his small bus. He charged $3.00 per person. Then he stopped at several resorts, explaining each one, and we could get off the bus at any. We got off at the first one. It was $3.00 per person to use the resorts beach, and they had tables and chairs, a bar and resteraunt. It was very nice. Then when we were ready to go back to the dock, there were buses always available, for $3.00 per person. It worked out quite well for us. There was even hair braiding at the beach, which kept DD occupied since she won't get in the ocean!

Have a great time!

Just back from the 11/9/02 Magic. We rented a car at Grand Cayman (Mistake..Absolutely not necessary) and drove along the resorts on 7 mile beach. The best spot we found was at the Holiday Inn (close to West Bay). There was a public beach adjacent to the Hotel area but the hotel area had chairs, umbrellas, jet ski's, plus a bar and restaurant on the beach. It was not very crowded either.

Thanks this was my question, was liiking and disney wants 109 for family of 4 to 7 mile beach. Will definitely takr the $3 bus or taxi to maybe the Holiday Inn and use the savings for waverunner.:smooth:

Sounds like a good plan BUT you'll be giving up the 2 free drinks that come with the excursion package!

$10 value per adult less per child. $24 round trip sounds great. even if you add $12 for beach access its only $36 compared to $109, disney booked excursion. $73 buys a waverunner plus afew cocktails, just dont want to be ripped off. I will take the best deal available.
