7 for 5 Effect on Crowds in late August

Last year I understand that the FTP had a noticeable effect on crowds late August and early September. Does anyone have any thoughts on how the 7 for 5 will effect crowds? Since they came out with room only codes that anyone can use, I would assume that 7 for 5 is not quite the success that FTP was. What do you think?

I'm just not getting that same 'sense of urgency' that was around last year with the FTP. I don't think it's as popular. Man, I'm hoping it's not. We go in August and hope the parks aren't too crowded, like last year.

We went the last week of August last year leaving right before Labor Day. I didn't notice any HUGE crowds, in fact, it seemed to me to be less crowded than it was when we went the year before right before Memorial Day. Several times it seemed that we were almost "by ourselves" in several areas of the parks.

So I think you'll be fine, since it also seems that a big portion of school kids go back before Labor Day (we always go right after around here.)

Good luck & have fun!!!

That's also the impression I'm getting. Maybe 7 for 5 just isn't nearly as appealing as 7 for 4 was.

I do hope you're right. We went last year in November (Jersey week) and the only time we encountered any problems with rides at all was the day we went to MGM - may have been EMH that day - anyway, by 4 p.m. there were no more Fast Passes for TOT. This year we will be there August 25-Sept. 4. Hope it won't be too much worse than November. We are already prepared for the heat, humidity, and daily thunderstorms.

I'm gonna guess the 5+2 DreamMaker Package won't pull in as many people as the FairyTale Package did last year. For one, it's not as good of a deal and I bet people who would have gone on a WDW trip this year moved their trip up and went last year instead to take advantage of the great deal.

We are going in October again this year so I'll be interested to see how the crowd levels are. Of course we'll be there during the Food & Wine Festival and MNSSHP so those always draw in the crowds.

We went the last week of August last year and it was crowded some days and other days DEAD. That was more toward the end of the week though. The first day we went to MK and it was so hot and so crowded, you could still get fast passes but the air was so stagnant and wall to wall people that we left and hung out at the pool.

That Friday we went back to the MK and it was like we had the entire park to ourselves. NO WAITING on ANYTHING! I asked a CM at the park what was up and he said all of the local children went back to school along with alot of the rest of the country. Funny...it seems like the only people we ran into were either from England, or New Jersey.

I would say the only downfall is the park hours. They aren't open real late (except EPCOT WS) and on the days it was crowded and we left by the time we would get ready to go back out again, nothing was open.

We are going the first week of September this year.

Have fun!!

Last year there were TV ads for the Fairytale Package. We couldn't take advantage of that last year and it killed me whenever I saw those ads.

I haven't seen any ads for the 7 for 5 package this year (at least here where I live). The only TV ad I've seen is for the Magical Gatherings. So maybe with less media advertisement it won't be as crowded. We can only hope!!!
