7 for 4 Can Be Good Deal for APs!

Sorry I am not clear because I am not sure of what I am talking about. So with the 4/3 I am getting a 7 day base ticket not 7 , 1 day base tickets?

I would up grade my 7 day base ticket to a PAP. I would not have left over tickets then correct?

and for the 4/3 I am only paying for 4 days of everything (hotel, dining and parks)? and getting 3 days of everything free?

Only room & park tickets are free for the extra 3 days. If you get dining you pay for it all 7 nights.

You will be getting one 7-day base ticket--provided that is what you tell them you want. If you say 4 day ticket, you will get a 4 day ticket. They will not automatically add the free days for you, but anything 5+ will automatically get up to 3 free days (5 days = 1 free day, 6 days = 2 free days, 7-10 days = 3 free days). This is for every person on the package.

You would upgrade the 7 day base ticket. There will not be left over tickets.

The 4/3 deal is for resort and tickets only. Dining is an extra and you would be paying for each night of your visit; you cannot have a different number of dining days than resort nights. If you are staying 7 nights, it's 7 nights of dining. If you are staying 10 nights, it's 10 days of dining. And so forth.

Will your last park day in December be before 12/12 so you can use 1 AP for all 3 trips?

I am going to try and plan it that way. His school schedule for next year does not come out until DEC. So we would either go in Nov for or around veterns day or the first 2 wks in DEC.

Thank you! That makes sense to me. I will call them and see what the price difference is from what I currently have.

So wouldn't you want to try to get 1 day tickets with your spring trip since you won't need them? Won't you upgrade your December tickets to APs? The 3 "free" days are only worth about $9/ticket but you'd had to put out quite a bit more to buy the 4 day tickets rather than 1 day's.

Hope I didn't just add to the confusion.

you did. Now I am do not understand AGIAN :confused3

Option a: The best thing to do for the less amount of cash outlay now is to upgrade the Dec tickets to the PAPs (see note below) and purchase 1 day base tickets for the 4/3 deal, saving those tickets for a future trip.

Option b: If you want the best long-term deal the best thing to do is upgrade the Dec. tickets to PAPs (again, see note below) and still get 7 day tickets with no expiration option in the spring. Save the 7 day tickets to use/upgrade at a later date, but get big pay offs because (1) you got 3 free days and (2) by that time there will probably be a price increase.

For the record, I did option A. Went with the least amount of cash layout now since I have other tickets I'm sitting on since the overall package cost was less than the AP room discount this past fall for our dates. I also hate taking money out of one trip for a future distant (2010 with our AP schedule, if we don't skip 2010 for DL or a Disney Cruise) trip. I want this vacation budget NOW!

NOTE: Keep in mind what I said about how many days though to see if a PAP v. an AP is worth it. You can always upgrade the AP to PAP if you want to decide later. There is no pro-rated rate for this though.

So sorry!!!

You will upgrade your December tickets to PAPs for just you & DS. When you go in April you don't need tickets because you will use the PAP's you bought in December. You will also use those same tickets when you go in Nov/Dec 09.

If you can buy 1 tickets for the April trip (I thought you could only do that online but I have read about Disers getting CRO to do it for them) you will be paying about $147 for tickets you don't need but if you buy the 4 day tickets you'll have to pay $429. The tickets won't loose value (might gain value if there is a price increase) but that is a lot of money to put out now for something you won't use for over a year.

That is a good idea. Have you seen how cold it is in Orlando this week?:scared1:

I'm pretty sure lovesdumbo is referring to 1-day tickets, so I highlighted that word.

Yes, CRO will do it for you. That's how I just booked our package, with 1-day base tickets, since I have an active AP. Just to warn you, here's what happened when I was on the phone: When the CM first priced the 4/3 package, she gave a price quote with a 4-day ticket (or possibly a 3-day ticket, I forget which). Even though I'd told her I wanted 1-day tickets, she was not able to start off the booking that way. Possibly something about the way it's arranged on their computer system or possibly what they're told to sell, I'm not sure. At any rate, after she quoted me the price, I said again that I wanted 1-day base tickets (as opposed to hoppers, since, like rt2dz, I'm trying to keep the cost of this particular trip as low as possible!) and then she was able to change the price quote.

For your sanity, price the package online with all the options you want and don't want first, then you'll be armed with the correct $ amounts when you hear them on the phone.

I hope this was clarification and not further confusion! :flower3:
