I have one question. This is our first time having an AP so I'm new at this. We've booked the package so we will end up having a one day ticket for everyone that we are not using. Do we keep our KTTW or do we ask them to remove the ticket from our room key? I just wasnt' sure about using our KTTW card in four years or whenever we would find ourselves using this ticket.

Here is my question. If I use all 8 days on my 8 day pass and on the 8th day I go to the window(inside park) and want to upgrade to an annual pass does the annual pass start that day or the next time I use it? I'm thinking that day but just want to make sure I understand it right.

The AP will start the day you first used the ticket that is upgraded. It does not matter when you do the upgrade, the first time you use that 8 day MYW ticket is the day your AP clock will start counting. All you will do is not leave yourself time for snafu’s and make yourself lose 8 days of possible AP discounts and other perks.

OK I'm confused..... If you have a 7 day ticket and use it for 7 days then decide you want an AP... you can then before leaving the park upgrade to an AP with guest services and they will credit your AP price the cost of the 7 day ticket?

Anyone know if the Disney GC for $200 is a separate GC or added to the KTTW? Also, does it expire? I'm assuming that it can be used in conjuction with the 1 day ticket toward renewing the AP.

Yes, but you don’t even have to upgrade it before leaving the park on the 7th day, just before 14 days have passed since you first used the ticket. So essentially you could decide on day 8 or day 14 that you want an AP. It does have to be done at guest services though, but many of the parks have one outside the park as well as inside the park—at least Epcot & MK do. Never paid attention at DHS or AK.

I tried to have mine removed from my key card 4 times on our Sept/Oct trip and all refused and said they couldn't do it!! Now I have the key cards that look expired from the date of our leaving the hotel. I marked them with a black marker that they are indeed 1 day passes since I have so many old key cards around. I wish they would have seperated mine!!

Yes, you have up to the 14th day to do thiis. Years ago, you coulld keep your past and any time up to one year of first use, you could upgrade to AP.
Yes, the effective date was the 1st day of use, but you could get a 5 day the first visit and go say 11 months later and pay the difference between the 5 day and AP then. Kind of an installment payment!! Also, if for some reason you couldn't return you didn't pay for the AP. Those were the days!!

I've always used those 1 day base tickets to either upgrade to an AP or renew an AP. I just found out a few months ago about using the ticket to bring it up to face value so I never tried putting an old room key into a turn style. I always gave the room key to guest relations and they gave me a new ticket.

I would have those tickets tied to a package with dining so that may have been the problem.

When I go in January with my DD I won't need a ticket so I am going to try again to get my ticket removed from my room key just because it will make it a bit less confusing. I won't have DDP. I can put the removed ticket away and not risk getting confused-my DD will be using a room key ticket so I would rather have the ticket I am buying with the package safely put somewhere that I will not use it by accident.

They can remove the tickets from the key. Guest Relations can do it, but they aren’t very good at. I hear of frequent incidents where they deactivate the key and dining credits wind up missing. Resort *concierge* should be able to do easy, front desk not so much. I don’t know why it should be a problem. If the CM wasn’t trained properly/doesn’t remember, I’d ask for a supervisor so that it can (1) be done and (2) the CM learns.

Just because the room key expired, doesn’t mean the ticket will. Tickets will remain on the key. Ticket turnstiles read a different code than the room doors. I wouldn’t worry about it if you haven’t removed them or forget to. You can also have resort concierge remove the ticket from the key on your next visit if it makes you feel better. Remember, you can charge until midnight on your check-out day and you have dining credits until midnight on your check-out day, but you cannot access your room after 11 AM. And people continue to use tickets from a package on a room key during split stays. Not a big deal unless you have dining credits. If they deactivate your key, you’re already at the resort…

Cost with special package = $1156

If you factor out the ticket ($319) the room costs 837 for seven nights/eight days. If I try to book room only the cost would have been 1479 (that is what we had before the deal came out.) The cost for only 4 nights and 5 days is 844 so I am getting three nights free.

It seams like a good deal and I do not have to keep watching and hoping for an AP rate or dream about a pin.

I do have some questions though ...
Does anyone know if I can upgrade the one day tickets to something else ... like a party ticket ???
Some have reported getting this deal plus their AAA discount ... is this true (we are AP holders, AAA members and have a disney visa ... any and all discounts are GREAT.)

You can not stack discounts. Those who *think* they have, are mistaken. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. They aren't sure what they should be paying.

You can upgrade the tickets to another kind of park ticket--not party tickets. Tickets can not be downgraded and a party ticket costs less than a one-day ticket. Almost all, if not all, tickets cost less than park tickets. I'm not even sure if you can change types of tickets (I doubt it) even if they cost more. You can save the one day tickets for any future date--just use it first.

For example, if I have a 1-day ticket as part of the current promotion, but I don't need it right now because, say, I have an AP, I should save the 1-day ticket and when the time comes that I need it, I should at that time and not now use it for admission and then upgrade it, if that's what I want to do. Yes? No? Or maybe I've misunderstood this whole thing.

I'm so excited!! My persistance paid off!!!! I finally got my AKL CL room under the 4/3 deal!

I've been checking a couple times a day since the offer came out and FINALLY, I checked tonight and I got the deal!! Saved another $250 off my AP rate and I get the $200 gift card to boot! Oh, and 1 day base tickets to use another time, almost forgot about that. DH is very happy with me tonight!!

LOL. You're just thinking too hard about it. It really isn't that complicated, it just feels like it when you're first learning. After a while, it all comes easily.
