Is it obvious which way to go at rope drop to get to 7DMT?
I’m guessing people go to other rides also, but I’m just not that familiar with that area of the park. We’ve spent more time in Tomorrowland and Adventureland.
I’ve looked at maps so have a general idea, but was wondering if you all could lead me for sure in the right direction.

I thought other rides were open too?
I thought others might be going to pp or sm- is this not so?

I'd be willing to guess that 80% of people will be going to 7DMT (if not more).

But it's in new fantasy land so it's the same general direction as PP anyway

Every ride will be open for normal operating hours but I'd say about 60% will be going to 7dmt, 25% going to PP, and the rest will be heading elsewhere

Thanks- that was very helpful- exactly what I wanted to know.
These boards are the best!

Head toward castle, veer right and take the bridge just to the right of the castle. Inbetween the castle and teacups. This will put you by the entrance quickest

This is almost always less crowded than straight through the castle. And it puts you closer to 7DMT.

The same way everyone else is going :)
That isn't correct. Most people go through the castle, but that's the wrong way if you want to beat the crowd. You have to go around the castle on the right.

If you go through the castle, you'll end up facing a long line at 7DMT, wondering how they got there first.

So any advice for fop?
Does everyone go the same way at rope drop for fop?

These rope drop threads are giving me anxiety :crazy2: Luckily we are only doing it twice for headliners. The rest of the time I went against the grain and got FP's for 9, 10, and 11! Stress free!

If you want an alternate strategy, the lines for these headliners are considerably shorter in the evening. Much less stressful too.

We’ve ridden 7D several times and the longest we have ever waited was 20 minutes the week it opened.

There have been several recent reports of less than 20 minute waits for FoP also. The shortest reported wait i’ve seen was 16 minutes about a week ago. Just keep in mind that the posted waits are intentionally inflated at night to discourage late riders.

I’m so glad I asked- this is why the disboards are So Valuable.
Great info

I say this all the time about DISboards. I don't hear people say it enough. This board has literally saved me from so much confusion, trouble, anxiety. In most cases I don't even need to ask my question, because I will usually find that someone else has asked it. Like this particular thread. I am planning a rope drop to 7DMT in November. Now I know... don't go through the Castle, but hang a right instead!! The little things mean a lot. Sometimes I will smile to myself as ask, how did I do it!? (regarding the crazy-outstanding 2017 trip I took last year.) How... The DISboards!

By far the best way to beat the crowds to 7DMT is to have an early reservation at BOG. You can just get a drink there if don’t actually want to have breakfast. 8-8:30 reservations will open up, especially one to two days before your date

They wouldn't let us go through the castle last week. Take the bridge on the right side next to tomorrowland.
