7 Days: See everything without hopping?

We were originally going for 5 days with hoppers, but this was before they came up with MYW tickets. Since it's such a great deal to go for 7 day tickets we're gonna do that. The hopping option will be $140 more, but that's almost 2 days worth of dining ($75 a day)! So I was thinking of just visiting one park a day (preferably the EMH park). Will we be able to do a good amount of sightseeing and riding without the hoppers?
This is what I was thinking:
2 days MK pirate:
2 day Epcot :teacher:
1 days AK
2 days MGM :wizard:

I don't see why not. I just prefer to have the hopper passes in case we go to 1 park in the morning and want to catch a show at another park that night. AK we always finish by the middle of the day and usually hit MK for a couple of hours. :earsboy:

Personally we love the hopping option! Since that is all we have done we are spoiled to it and will never give it up now.... Normally we go to the early entry park and leave there by 11am because of the crowds. You get more rides in with fewer minutes standing in lines.

But, it is a great deal to not hop! And, with you all being there for so long, I'm sure you will be able to tour just fine. Sorry I don't know about the crowds with these new EMH's. I am looking forward to seeing the crowd patterns and how the park attendance will be affected.

The only other thing I was wondering about is... are you all going at a peak time of year? If so, it might be worth it to have the parking option. The parks can get brutal at high attendance times.

For us, the hoppers are worth the extra $.

On any given day, the parks that feature EMH are MUCH more crowded than other parks. We typically take advantage of EMH, but are off to another park during the peak hours of the day. The hoppers allow you to take advantage of the extra hour(s) while still avoiding the worst of the crowds.

I also bought the 7 days without hopping. There are 7 of us in the family and that adds up to a bit of money just to hop. We have hopped only once in our last 3 visits so i figured it probably wont be different this time. If it is something that we decide we want I will just add on when we are there, but knowing my kids I doubt that will happen. Most of the time, my kids like to stay in whatever park we are in at the time and go back to their favorite attractions. They love swimming so i have a feeling once we are done for the day the big request will be for the pool not another park. Anyway, you should have no trouble what you have scheduled. We have pretty much done just what you are planning for most of our trips and have been very satisfied with the outcome. Enjoy your trip!

I got the PAP's so hopping is included, but the older boys love to hop and plan on Pleasure Island at night. Plus, my little one hates fireworks, so if they want to skip PI and watch the works in a different park they can.

Younger one and I stick to one park, when we are done, we head to dinner and the pool. This will be our first year for Downtown Disney, so that's I picked the PAP (plus we are going back several times this year for short weekend trips).

We are also planning the two waterparks.

But, if park hopping is not an issue, save the money and enjoy other perks (meals, gifts, etc)

Would it better to get park hopping when you are not sure about the extra hours at night, or am, and if you have ps you make resv 60-90 days in advance and you are not sure of the hours?

In your opinion, is this true for both the morning EMH (it's just one hour, right?) as well as the evening (3?) EM Hours??

We want to go to the parks on the least crowded days b/c our kids would be too tired to do the extra hours, anyway. The early EMH and the evening EMH are never the same day at the time park, right? So does that mean we would have to avoid a certain park (say, MK) on TWO different days of the week? The early EMH day and the evening EMH day???

Any help is appreciated.

I'd probably for 2 MK, 2 EPCOT, 1 AK and 1 MGM. Then use the other day for either AK or MGM...whichever one has more of what you want to see.

Also avoiding EMH parks really depends on the time of year you are going. EMH was pretty empty at night in January. I also hopped over there in the afternoon...the crowds were primarily in Fantasy land.

When push comes to shove I'd probably avoid the EMH morning park but would go to the EMH evening park. JMHO. Of course the other thing is...the true EMH crowd test will come in March.

First, let me say I purchased the "hop" option and didn't use it. We saw everything on our January 22 trip.

For our upcoming May 3rd trip, I purchased MYW w/plus pack NO HOP option

May 3 MK

May 4 MK

May 5 AK/Downtown Disney

May 6 AK/Boardwalk/Hotel Touring/Water Park

May 7 EPCOT

May 8 EPCOT

May 9 MGM

May 10 (Whatever we want day - very late flight)

Hope this helps! Have a great trip!

You can DEFINATELY do 7 days without hopping! No problem. I don't think you'll need 2 days at MGM. I recommend the 2 days at MK, 2 at EPCOT, 1 for MGM, 1 for AK & then leave an open day to go back to whatever park you feel you did not get to "finish" or to re-visit your favorites. It looks like you'll be going b4 the summer so you should be fine doing everything you want to do.
We hopped last trip, but seeing the cost to hop we'll plan to stay at one park per day in the future.

I am doing the same thing and some people have told me I am crazy for not hopping. Our children are 4 and 5 and I feel that once we are in a park, we are staying in that park. When we are done, we can go back to our room and pool and RELAX! I'm sure we will need it. No need to rush all around, that wouldn't make it much of a vacation! We are also doing two days in MK, one in Epcot, one in MGM, and one in AK. We have two open but what I've heard is that we will need another at Epcot, but we will still have one left open. Hope you have fun!

Can't even imagine not having the choice of hopping. But, if you have done it before and liked it, then it will probably work for you. I guess I just need to know I have a choice if the park is an absolute zoo on the day I choose to go there.

I also cannot imagine going without the hopping option. It would take away so many of your options every day.

The best way to enjoy attractions is to take advantage of EMH, but then get out of that park, and on to one that is less crowded. Also, with hopping, you don't have to be a planning commando. On a whim, you can hop the monorail from Epcot to MK to see Wishes. There are just so many more possibilities with hopping.

If you purchase non-hopping tickets in advance, not through Disney, can you add the hopping option once you get there and decide you want it? How would you do this, and where?

You'll do fine with 7 days. IMHO I would rethink the EMH concept without a hopper option, unless you are going in the slow season.

I still have my AP for this trip, but I'm thinking about getting non-hopper tickets the next time I have to buy tickets for our family because of the savings. Now, I haven't done this yet so this is all just speculation, but it seems to me that if you're not going to park-hop the best thing to do is avoid the EMH parks. If you get there and that park is super-crowded, then you'll be stuck. I'd rather go to a non-EMH park that is less crowded even though you'll have a little less time. This is assuming you're going at a busy time of year, like we always do, when the park hours are long anyway. If you're going at a slow time when the hours are shorter, I'd still take advantage of EMH even with non-hoppers.

I have two teenage daughers and they love to hop so we purchased the hopping option. But your plan sounds fine. We always use the EMH but then go back to CBR early, swim, relax, and then we hop to a different park hoping it is not so crowded as the EMH park for the evening.

for the price, I would stick with the non-hopping tickets. You have 7 days so you really can see all you want in those 7 days.

I'm a nonhopper and I think it's great: go in the morning, leave (get a fast pass on the way out) and return later. Of course, I've been several times and will go again so I'd rather use the money for extra days. I've hopped once: all 4 in one day. It was fun because we only had one day but I wouldn't do it again.
