7 Days at Disney & the MANY Lessons We Learned Along the Way! My Jan 2010 TR

Kim- prayers of peace and God's love to surround you and uphold you all during this time.

Jo

Kim, I haven't posted a lot on your TR. But I wanted to say how sorry I am about your FIL! I will keep him and you and your family in my thoughts!

Kim- Your family is in my prayers. Take all the time that you need because we'll be here waiting for you whenever you're ready.

Oh Kim I am so sorry  Your family needs you more than we do so please don't feel pressure from us  Stay strong :grouphug:

Sorry we didn't bump into you in Norway. I also found the princesses very rushed here, compared to our other trips. I'll save our stores for my TR. The rain was disappointing, but didn't last long.

Fantasmic is so amazing. It is my favorite night time show, it has a bit of everything, the villans, fireworks, and the pull on your heart stings soft spots.

They do seem to be rushed. We tried to time our visit between servings. We got lucky one time where we were last seating for breakfast. You could tell that at times the Princesses? were trying to peal away from the children . I do think half the magic when going to character dining events is watching children faces. I have seen some of the most precious moments watching the interaction between the characters and the children. Last time at Chef Mickey's dining event I laughed so hard at the kids at the next table I cried, they were so amazingly cute! My girls are a little older now but I hope they never outgrow their love for character dining.

The last time we went to Disney was to celebrate my Mother's victory over cancer, and she asked me to do the character dining as much as possible. I must say to watch my Mom laugh and beam at all the "special moments" was priceless.

I think the best thing about Disney is watching kids young and old forgot that others are watching and just get caught up in the moment. No one does it better than Disney.:worship:

At some point I'd like to get an update on here but for the time being I just don't have the motivation to be on here.

My FIL has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and I have lots more going on right now. My mind is elsewhere these days. I promise to update soon and in the meantime, thanks for your patience and prayers.

I just wanted you to know I started reading your blog and when I read this I had to let you know that I will be thinking of you and yours. I went through this with my Mom two years ago, she had cancer in various spots and we were given no hope. We tried to stay positive, and we researched as much as possible, and we prayed. I hope you realize that there are people out here who will keep you in our prayers, and thoughts. If you ever have questions about what my Mom did let me know. I would be more than happy to share.

I hope this day brings you some comfort

I just have to say thank you to all of you for your thoughts, comments and prayers. My eyes are filled with tears after reading all of your posts. I greatly appreciate all of the kind words.

Then came the highlight of the day…A DIS MEET!!!!!!
We were supposed to have lunch with Kim (NorthernDisneyGirl) but since we had a late breakfast none of us were hungry. It was still nice to say hello to her and her family for a minute! They were so sweet! Jason walked around all day saying “eh” though. :lmao:

I was feeling yucky and the kids were wearing down so we decided to leave AK.
We headed back to CBR and had a late lunch. I bought some goodies from the gift shop at CBR. :headache: Not the souvenirs I was looking to buy on this trip.

Lessons Learned from DAY SEVEN
  • Sinus infections are TERRIBLE!!!! Next time if I feel that awful, I’m going with my gut instinct and going to an urgent care center. Vacation or not- get to a doctor. I waited until we got home and by then it was so awful it took 20 days of antibiotics to finally get rid of it.
  • The DIS is an awesome place and has allowed me to some wonderful people. I’m so glad I got to meet up with Kim and her family- even if it was for a few short minutes!
  • The dining plan is a waste of money for my son. Next time I’m packing a loaf of bread and a jar of PB. Em ended up using most of his credits.

Ah! You beat me!!! :lmao: I have to wait for my silly hubby to do his commentary on our TR before I can get to our meet!!! :goodvibes

So Jay caught the "EH" bug did he??? Most non Canadians don't know how to use it properly tho!! Some of my non Canadian friends will be like - "So do you want to go shopping...EH???" NOT correct ;) CORRECT -> "Oooh, That guy is sooo cute, Eh?" ;) Basically, you make a statement and then follow it up with an EH to make it into a question!!!

There - now y'all know how to talk Canadian! :rotfl2:

Love and hugs to and the Fam, Kimmy! Hope you guys are all hangin' in there!!!

Oh Kim!! Made me miss Epppppcccooooottt!! I too love it at night....it's amazing! Which is why I love staying at the BC and just walking home at night. I was reading this update and had just got to the comment about the kids loving the Boneyard ~thinking to myself how much my kids love it & as I am looking at the pictures,ds10 recognizes the Boneyard and shouts...OOOHHH!!! I looooove that place~!!!!
Kim(canada)...thanks for that Canadian language lesson!! I have heard people do it wrong like that and it drives me crazy!!!!!

I laughed when I read the blog on talking Canadian!

I have practice for a few, and I think I got it now.;)

That Mickey is a hunk of burning love, EH!:thumbsup2

Am I right or what, EH!

Yea, a Snowbird meet! :cool1::banana:
