I have been trying to get a week at the Fort for Christmas (Dec. 23-30th). When I called the first time I was told to try and book whatever I could get even if is was a day at a time, then to call back and they would add all the reservations together so we would not have to move sites. I now have the week reserved and called. I was told that they have never heard of that and they could link the reservations, but there is no guarantee that we would not have to move sites. Does anyone have any experience with this? Even adding days to a reservation....would you have to move?

I have had up to 4 different reservations for one trip. I have never had to move. If they have them all linked and they are the same level of site(full hookup, preferred, etc.), you shouldn't have a problem.

I have also had diffrent reservations and never had to move sites. They just work around you. We have always booked packages with tickets and dining, then added a couple of nights before and after to enjoy FW.

I really am not try'n to cause any problems here,,but , you have the ressies,,so when you get there,,just don't move. It's not like Disney would have you tow'd.
I have actually seen it happen where folk simply stay'd on the site because they decided not to move. And whats Disney gonna do ? Nothing....

just my opinion.

We've had multiple linked reservations several times. Every time they've told us there's a possibility we might have to move. We've never had to however, we had a scare this past year.

We went up to the Outpost to check out/back in on the changeover day and the CM said, "ok so I'm showing you moving sites"

She looked up and saw our horrified faces and before we could say anything she said, "hang on a minute"

She went out back for about 5 minutes, came back and said "you're all set."

That said... we always go during slower times of the year. I'm not sure how being there the busiest week of the year may effect the situation.

Hopefully it'll all work out for you. Turn on the charm, beg, cajole... try tears if you have to. ;)

Good luck! :santa:

We've had split ressies before, and have them again for December, still chasing that last day too.....we've never had to move before.

That said, this year we may have to, our first day is premium and the remainder of the week is preferred... or vice versa. So, I fully expect to have to change, but am hoping for a bit of pixie dust. Still need the last day of our December trip - otherwise we'll be leaving early......

Ditto on that, I've been working for three months to get a full hook up site res. Right now, I have full for three days. premium for one day, and full for three days.

Must continue to work, call, work, call, etc

Wonder if we are all chasing the same dates.... I have a preferred for the 23rd and full for the 24-25. The rest of my days are premium. Thought I would chase after the premium (since I have the most of them) even though I don't have a clue what that category gives you over the preferred. Just location??

Since you have different levels of campsites as stated in your second posting, I am probably 99% sure you will have to move sites. You normally don't have to move if you have the same level of sites. The premium sites mainly just give you a larger concrete area but not necessarily better location. You could be in a premium site that is down near the full hookups , e.g., 1200 or 1300. They are across the road from the 1600-1900 loops. Preferred is the only level that guarantees you a location near the marina (100, 200 or 300 loop).

That's what I'm thinking too. All our multi-reservation trips have been with the same class of site for all. Since there aren't any loops with more than one class of site on them, I don't see how they might be able to let you stay in one site since you're paying per night based on your site class.

If you can manage to at least get all your reservations with the same class of site, you should greatly increase your chances of not having to move.

Good luck!

I agree, my best chance of not moving is getting them all the same. I will continue my daily checking and hope for the best. I have not booked any as a package, so we can cancel up until 5 days before if things don't work out. Will need to know well before that though....if we don't get to go to Disney, 'Santa' will have to do some shopping. :santa:

we have 3 days on preferred and 10 days on a premium over Thanksgiving and the week beyond... I am really hoping we won't have to move. I will be going in with my 6 month baby and very English accent and prepared to cry if necessary! I'll let you know how we get on!:goodvibes

Hmm... there might not be enough crying (or accent) to help you on that one. ;)

Not only do you have 2 different levels of site (one being more $$) but Thanksgiving week is super busy at the Fort.

If you're going preferred to premium, that could be extra tricky as there are far fewer preferred sites overall.

But here's wishing you some :tinker:
