7 day window????

Has anybody every had any luck with rooms opening up after the 7 day window? We are trying to change resorts and still no luck with rooms opening except that a DVC phone person said that sometimes rooms open up during the 7 day window if cash rooms are still available. I've never been in this position and I don't know if it is a posiblity or not...I sure hope so....

It is possible. A few years ago, I had a reservation at SSR but wanted BWV. (My home is BWV, but this was last minute.) I was on the train on my way down and called MS to check one last time. The BWV had just what I needed, so I switched enroute.

We got a BW view studio the day before we left for WDW in Oct 2005 after being on the waitlist for 6 months. So, I woudl say yes, you have a chance BUT it depends on how many nights you need. A couple of nights may be much easier to get than a week!

I was told that from 7 days out to arrival date there is no more waitlist and anything that becomes available is up for grabs on a first call first serve basis and that if my wailist did not come through I should call each day until the day before we arrive.

Well, that's good to know. I'm not on the waitlist has my dates are spread between 3 contracts. I'll just keep calling and hope that something becomes available for the dates I need. I'm willing to just do a few days at the other resort.

My non disney friends that never go to WDW for spring break decided this year that every one is going to go. And 15 families are at BC and 3 families are at BW and for the first spring break ever I decided to stay at AKV. Normally I'm at BWV.....so, if it doesn't work out I'm still there but I figured with so many families that usually don't vacation there this is a once in a lifetime get together with so many families involved.

I got my last reservation at under the 7 day window. Don't give up. (I have my fingers crossed for you!)

I called on Thursday Dec. 27 and got a rooms for 12/30 and 12/31. I was way beyond excited.
