Just returned last week, and (shock) it was a hit! Even so, we probably won't cruise again. This is nothing against Disney -- they did a fantastic job. It's just that we prefer fewer people and more casual dining (buffet and shorts). I highly recommend the trip to families.

Side note: I'd accidentally stumbled upon Tim Larison of the Cruising Company (TimL@cruisingco.com) on the internet and was extremely satisfied with his services. A couple friends followed my recommendation by using him for their May cruise, and are quite pleased too.

See my complete trip report at http://home.att.net/~gimmetwo/trip-report.pdf and feel free to email with questions. =)

Very interesting and informative report. I really appreciated that you shared what went well and for those items that were not to your liking, the reason why.

the link didn't work for me....just said "page not availabe on this server." :(

Thanks for the great report! I especially liked that while there were things you didn't care for about the cruise, your family had a wonderful time.:)

I really enjoyed reading your Magic Western trip report. I, also was comfused about the dress for Mexicalifragilistic night. Is it mexican or tropical or somewhere inbetween... mexican tropical? I agree that if you try to do ALL the activities, you'll feel rushed. That's why you have to pick the ones you really want to see. After 7 days of trying to see everything, burn out is definitely a possibility. Remember, there is always another DCL cruise to book. LOL!

Thanks for sharing your trip!

It's confusing because Mickey and Minnie were definitely wearing Mexican-garb, complete with sombreros and such, and there is a mariachi band which parades through the dining room. However the servers wore more of a tropical island style vest, and each guest got a lei at the dinner table. The dinner is very fun as right in the middle of it, the music pumps up and the servers start a limbo game which the kids are invited to join.

All in all, I think most guests use the Passport to select their attire for that night, which lists "island wear" and we felt very comfortable in our tropical apparel, complete with grass skirts and leis. But if you have Mexican attire you'd prefer to wear, I think you'd fit in pretty well too.

great report!! I really loved the parts about what you'd do differently, wished DCL did differently, and what they did great.
thanks for taking the time to post! :)

thank you for one of the most complete and informative cruise travel reports I've ever read! I appreciate the way you explained the parts you didn't like or would have changed. A complaint without a solution is pretty wishy-washy!

One of the most important things you mentioned was the lateness of the Navigator. It does arrive too late for me also - another control person! I plan and plan and it gets to the point where I have to stop myself or I won't enjoy my relaxation!

Thank you once again for the excellent report!
