Dh and I have not been on vacation together for over 6 years. My mother has graciously offered to watch the kids for a week in June so dh and I can go somewhere.

We've tried to book a few places and been shut out. It does not matter where it is. We've tried to book cruises but there's always been a problem when it gets to the booking part. That has to be a sign, so I am turning to the DIS. Someone, somewhere is going to have an idea.

We'd like a relaxing vacation, not a go, go, go. Other than that...one week is your only other guideline.

Thanks!

Maybe Napa Valley? I have heard that it is really relaxing and there are lots of little bed and breakfasts to stay in.

I'd still try to find a cruise though!

Sandals Jamaica? That is incredibly romantic, and relaxing. However, I would cruise also. Try something at a port near you house, makes it SOO much easier. Drive there, park, and away you go. The good thing about cruising is, it is ALL about relaxing. You can do as little, or as much as you want. You can sleep all day, and eat all night, or vice versa..

THat is my 2 cents:goodvibes

I like the idea of an all inclusive place. Cruise would be my first choice, but then if you can't get a resport on stilts in the water ;) then I would look into an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean or maybe in Mexico?

An all0inclusive in Mexico. We just loved it. Best vacation ever. We stayed in Playa Del Carmen at an Iberostar. No work at all. Lounging by the pool w/ a drink. We did some tours off resort too.

This link won't let me pick a location...it just keeps saying 'please pick a location' or something'.

Can't...I can try to email them..there is no booking info on the site.

I booked through Liberty Travel - as far as location we went to the
Paraisio Del Mar. It was wonderful. You can also try Apple vacations.

How about a cruise. It cn be as relaxing as you want it to be.We love waking up somewhere diffrent. We have went on a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Glory and Loved it.You have 2 sea days on the Western and 3 on the Eastern.

How about Hawaii? This is where dh and I escaped for a week. Next we would love to go to Mexico. We spent one day in Cozumel on our last Disney Cruise and are now anxious to longer (maybe Cozumel again or try Cancun). I have heard great things about Iberostar that someone else posted!

My vote would be for an all inclusive place or a cruise.

But if you don't want to be that far out of reach from your kids. How about the Keys (very laid back place).

Sarasota, or Marco Island are all very nice and relaxing.

I agree, an all-inclusive vacation in the Mayan Riviera is the way to go. I've never stayed at any of the Iberostar resorts, but have heard good things about them. I like that area of Mexico because they have beautiful beaches and resorts, but there is also some things you can go outside the resort if you wanted to get out for the day. Some other all-inclusive in other countries, you would be risking your life if you left the resort.

If I were going to take my wife on a romantic getaway, the place I would want go to is the Azulik Villas in Tulum, Mexico. Check them out here....

I'm going to suggest Vegas - 'cause that's where I always want to go. Especially if you stay off Strip (consider the JW Marriott or Red Rock Station) it can be very relaxing. Plus you've got tons of great shows, restaurants, etc. to sneak away too if you need a break from all that relaxing…

My vote would definitely be for a cruise! Why are you having problems booking one???
