Has anyone ever done this? Was it too much Disney - is there such a thing?

How did you handle packing? I am thinking same clothes for parks and cruise with evening wear added for the cruise.

Do any of you have a trip report you can share of your 7/7 adventure?

Any tips for experienced veterans of this Disney Deluxe trips would be appreciated.

Background:

We did Disney in Jan 22, 2005 and are doing Disney AGAIN on May 3 2005

This next 7/7 trip would be until 4/15 - 21/2006 WDW 4/22 - 4/29 DCL

We didn't quite do that many but, when we were cancelled 11/02 Eastern we did 3 days at WDW then a 4 night sailing and the 2 more days at WDW......I thought it was WAY too much WDW....especially after the sailing! JMHO

:cool1:

We have put together several trips -- to WDW then got on the cruise for a 7 night trip on the Magic.

Day clothing is the same (but we do factor in a wash night at the resort before we board the ship). Evening wear is in the garmet bags -- last thing packed at home & first thing hung out at the resort to minimize wrinkles.

First year we did it - was 2001 - The nice thing with the 7 days at WDW we hit the waterparks at least twice! We stayed offsite that year -- Then onto the 9/3/01 sailing of the Magic.

Next year we in 2002 - we just did WDW .

2003 - Stayed at CSR -- then onto the Magic for the Western Cruise.

2004 -- Well..... it didn't work out perfect --but we still had fun! Stayed at POFQ -- then extended our stay due to Frances -- and finally got on the Magic on 9/7.

I would recommend it !

I am thinking of doing that for our cruise next year. My DH is currently deployed and will return next spring. We are going on the 7 day western to celebrate our 10th anniversary (which is actually this year) and do a wedding vow renewal. I am thinking of spending the week prior at WDW. Then we would get back from the cruise on Saturday, spend the nite at Disney and go home on Sunday.

Last August we did the 7 day, followed by what was supposed to be 6 nights at WDW Flying home on Friday). We (very) unexpectedly met up with Frances, and couldn't fly home till the next Tuesday, giving us a whooping 10 nights at WDW. Let me tell you, the trip had definite potential. Unfortunately, I was traveling with three children; my 13 yo DD with secial needs, my 12 yo neice (whose only special need is that she hates Disney) and my then 6 month old foster baby. Need I say more. No car, no one I knew, rain, rain, and more rain. Would I do it again.......in a minute. I'm booking a week for '06 to follow our 8/17/06 7 day cruise. What can I say... it's tradition!!!! (And no, my niece will NOT be coming!!!)

I have 8 days in front of our 4 day cruise---Cant wait!!! I had to buy a new (bigger) suit case to hold everything---there is just myself and my 7 yr old son--so we will have 3 suit cases total....

DH and I did 5 days at DW followed by the 10 day Holiday Cruise in Dec. Nope, there is no such thing as too much Disney. Just wish we were going on the 14 day transition cruises...both of them! :rolleyes1

We do laundry the last night at the resort. We also keep the formal stuff in a garment bag and hang it immediately at WDW to save as many wrinkles as possible. We also used the service on ship to get shirts and pants pressed for DH this last cruise and were VERY impressed with it. Did not cost much at all.

we did it last year with a 1yr old and a 3 yr old. The resort that we stayed at had a washer and dryer. That helped alot so we did not have to pack a lot of clothes.I used the cruise to relax It was a very good trip and I will never forget it. :goodvibes

we've done a 8 day land and 4 day cruise in 2000. Our next was a 1 day land and 4 day cruise in 01 (just DW and I). Our last in 03 was 7 day land and 7 day sea - we liked it so much...we are booked to do the same this October.

No - as a 'disney addict'....was not too much disney. I can see for some...it might be a little much. Guess it would depend if you stay on/off site. The ship is themed in a classic style that you can lose the 'disney touches'. My FIL thought it would be 'another park ride'...he was surprised and very pleased to see how well these were hidden.
Packing....i must admit, i fail in this catagory - big time. we plan on taking mostly resort casual type clothes. Some that with a blazer or dress pants and tie can be 'dressed up'. Am really (with right hand in the air) going to work on cutting down the number of clothes i take. Plan on doing laundry once or twice on land and just once on the ship.

We did an Ill-fated 7 day Sept (Hurricane Jeann) cruise, which turned into a 5 day cruise. We spent those 2 days missed on the ship at the Beach Club. Following our cruise we spent another 12 nights in WDW. (All this preceeded by 6 nights at Royal Pacific Resort - USF)

I say you can never have enough Disney - for me anyway. My fixes are unfortunately few and far between because of the distance and the expense of actually getting there.

We wore most of our casual "day" clothes on both land & sea, and only needed to wash once a week (from what I remember it was cheaper to wash on the ship). The formal clothes just stayed packed in our suitcases once we were at our WDW resort.

We have done three days at WDW before each 7 day cruise so far. I pack our WDW clothes in a seperate suitcase so that we only have to carry one big one up to the room. The rest of the cruise luggage stays in the car. We pack up the dirty clothes in the one bag & leave it in the car when we go on the ship. This year we are going to WDW for 2 days after the cruise so we will leave our WDW bag in the car when we go on the ship.

We've got you beat. We did a week doing non-Disney activities (Clearwater, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Universal Studios, IOA, Cypress Gardens, etc)

7 Night Cruise, then the final 7 nights at WDW.

Was it too much Disney:confused: NOPE. Was it too much vacation at one time - Maybe. We all were ready to come home. Usually when we are leaving WDW we all are a little teary eyed. We had done everything we wanted, were tired, the weather was getting hot and we were ready to go. Would I do the 7/7 Disney parts again - Heck YES::yes:: !!! (BTW the first several hours at WDW was spent doing laundry)

Coming from the West Coast this is about the only way we go. There was one time we went out for JUST a 7 night cruise - got off of the ship, got a rental car, drove to all of the parks to "just peek in" and then spent the rest of our time at Downtown Disney. Was one of the hardest things we've ever done - being so close but not in one of the parks!!

This year after the 3 days at DL and the Repo Cruise and 3 days at WDW I know that we will wish we had more days at WDW!
