This summer it was "gas is going to be 12 dollars a gallon" ahhhhhhhhhhhh


It never made it much past $4 on a national average. Gas is supply and demand, the president doesn't do much about the cost of a barrel of oil. Now on the other hand they do have some control on the tax breaks that big oil companies get (ie they have got a lot of breaks in the last eight years). Obama has said that he is going to put a stop to big breaks to big business. That might cut into profits but I doubt the oil companies are going to shoot themselves in the foot and try to make up the difference by raising gas prices. Heck they shoot to four and we quit buying it, and suddenly "it's a miracle" gas prices drop.


I agree with a pp. Let the dude take the oath of office before we start blaming him for stuff.

My Disney wives second cousin on her brothers side said that we would be paying $14 gallon by the end of the year but I know that he likes to spread rumors so maybe we just should sit back and see what happens.......

Which also by the way was pretty much the same plan McCain endorse.

Bottom line is: Petroleum is a non renewable source of energy. Americans make up a little over 6% of the worlds population but use 30-35% of its energy. China & India are exploding in population and using more and more petroleum.
Presidents effect the price of gas about as much as I do.

Whether we like it or not we have to find other sources of energy.

So far Obama has been blamed for
closing down the coal industry
raising electricity prices
stock market plummet
and now rise in oil prices
The man hasn't been president a day yet. Can we at least wait until he gets sworn in before blaming armegeddon on him.

You were repeating something you heard your BIL say, supposedly from a news source and/or speech, without confirming it. So you were, indeed, spreading rumors.
As others have said, if Obama had said that some news outlets (probably fox news first!) would have been all over it. And I'm not an Obama fan either, but hate to see people say assinine things just to stir things up.
