I have tiny kids, so my nearly 7 YO will have no problem fitting in a stroller, nor will he have any issues with being embarrassed about being in a stroller. That said, I can't decide if I should bring 2 single stroller (BJCM and Volo) and a few baby carriers, or a double and a single (BJCMD and ??)

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

I bring my double. It is a huge Graco tandem that we call "the tank," for the baby and 2 year old (they will be 2, 11m at the time of our trip) we find it is easier to keep them contained in the double. My 2 year old likes to walk a lot, so that way there isn't an extra stroller, or we can split up and not have to worry about needing an extra person to push a stroller. My other kids have walked the park (no stroller) since about the age of 4.

I would consider one double stroller. That way one parent is 'free' from pushing, and baby carrier.

Mine will be 6, 4, and 2 when we go. We'll bring a single and a double. Having a seat for each child is priceless, especially when they get tired and cranky. When we went in December, my then-5 year old fell asleep in the stroller on at least 2 different nights! We have a Jeep double and a Chicco single. Both are light-weight and fold easily. The kids can easily pop in and out of the strollers but it's nice to have an option. I also know that when we're there in August and it's SO hot, he'll like to be able to sit down!

...oh...and my kids all hated baby carriers. Simply wouldn't tolerate them. Too sweaty, too cramped, can't move, I don't know why, but they hated them.

If it were me I would bring 1 single, my kids walked from 4 on. BUT since you want one for the 4 yr old I would bring the double and leave 1 parent stroller free to deal with holding things like the baby when the stroller is getting folded for the bus and getting on, etc and to deal with the kids while 1 parent deals with the stroller and junk.

I'm sure the 7 yr old will be fine walking 90% of the time if not 100% and with the double the 4 yr old could walk if the 7 yr old has to sit for a bit.

Just bring the double. We actually did bring a single and a double when my kids were 5,3 and 17 months. It was a huge pain. We only actually ended up using them one full day at the parks. Too much too push (we both had to always push) plus a 7 year old, not matter how small, is going to be heavy and not that fun to push! My 5 year old was fine to walk. If there was ever a time he was really tired we let him ride for awhile while one of the others walked. I think one night all 3 were asleep after the bus ride, then the oldest two rode and I carried the baby. It is just too hard with two strollers also if you are on the bus. You both need to carry a stroller and if even one child falls asleep you are in trouble!

I prefer two singles, as then one adult is in charge of one stroller each and they are easier to move around shops.

But we only currently have two kids. We brought our mclaren from home for the baby 11 months and my eldest 2.5 mostly walked but we did borrow a very cheap umbrella stroller from the condo which hung over the back of our mclaren when not in use.

I had a sling for our 11 months for ride lines. He didn't like being in it for great lengths of time however.
