7/26/2014 - 12-Night Mediterranean Cruise (with Greece)

I have just been checking on the DCL website to see what the current price of our cruise is and it has really gone up. I presume that we will have a really full ship, it must be a very popular cruise. It is the only one of the longer med cruises that fits in with British school holidays. The cost for our cabin, an 11B, has gone up by $1200 for 2 adults and a 15 yr old. I know that DCL prices tend to get higher nearer the cruise but I'm surprised it has gone up this much so far out. Really glad we booked early.

The 11B are showing as more money than the 10C - crazy :)

I noticed that too, but I would rather have the higher deck of an 11b than the larger room of a 10c. Maybe I am not alone and that is why it is more for the 11 but when booking opened the 10c was more expensive:confused3

~~ Myself (Katie), and my Fiance (Angel) (husband at sailing)

~~ Not sure yet about FE.

This is our honeymoon cruise and we are so excited to go to the Med. This will be my 2nd DCL and the 5th for DF. We are also doing both the pre-stay ABD add-on in Barcelona and the add-on during the cruise. Looking forward to seeing you all in the Med!

FINALLY another 22 yr. old on board - our son, and the friend going along with us will be 22 next year.......he really enjoyed the 18-21 yr. old gathering this year on the Fantasy, but next year, can't believe I'm saying this:headache:, he will be TOO old......glad to hear others will be his age. This will also be our first time to Europe, our 12th Disney cruise. So exciting.:yay:

My DS will be 21 next year, so another one to hang around with :)

My children will be 18 and 15, so actually my daughter is an adult for the first time on the cruise and can join us in Palo however we can't leave my don without anyone to eat with so we may just have brunch only. Which will be free as were all platinum.

Palo Brunch is one of the main things I am looking forward to doing on this cruise as we haven't had chance on our previous cruises. With 4 sea days do you think most people that want to do it will get the opportunity? We will still only be silver, not moving to gold until after our B2B, but hopefully this will be early enough booking to secure a place. I am not fussy about which day either. Not sure that we will do the dinner again, I too have a 15 year old who will be alone, but also it ended up really costing a lot last time with the martinis, 2 bottles of wine, after dinner liqueur coffees, cover charge and tip ;) it was fun though.

Well it's gone up a little to $ 25 but still well worth it

Very quite here and on Facebook meets, how is everyone's planning going on? We have private tours booked in all bar one port?

Flights booked today.
More than would have liked to pay but hey ho

:goodvibes

Easyjet. Easiest way to get from Liverpool to Barcelona and still, just about, the cheapest :)

:goodvibes

I didn't know if I could trust them, and with their extra costs BA seemed better for me.

Anyone done any port planning yet?

It is very quiet on here I was thinking that everyone had just defected to the Facebook group but maybe not then. After the initial busyness everyone has disappeared. Just wondering if anyone has got a list together for the FE? I know there was early talk about a spreadsheet being kept but the original poster/thread starter has not been on for months, don't know if she is still with us. :confused3

We have booked with BA, I think mainly because I like the idea of them having more flights available if the first gets cancelled.

So far I have flights and hotel booked but nothing for ports arranged. I think we are going to book the DCL Ephesus & water park trip (if it's offered again) and maybe something with DCL in Malta but other than that we will just make our own way around. Barcelona, Villefranche, La Spezia and Civitevecchia we have done before so we can take it easy with those, probably only Athens is going to require some proper planning.

Hi!
I have not being on here (or on the FB page) in a long time. We have been back from our summer vacation for 5 weeks now and I am busy writing my trip report. ;)

We have booked our flights (cheap ones :cheer2:) with Lufthansa yesterday. No hotel yet, but I am working on it.

I do keep a FE list over on FB. I was not sure if I should post it here as well, but I basically took the info from here and started a list.
No idea where the original thread starter went, hope they come back!

Yes FB has been very quite we need to get going a bit more.

I have private tours booked in all ports bar Mykonos where we will go DIY secured a lot a good guides in the main attractions,

In the Med and Baltic and even Alaska we organised our own tours to do what we wanted, where and when we want and often cheaper.

Tour buses can't get to some place but they do go to tourist shops and tourist restaurants and the odd hard sell perfume factory.

We want to go and spend our time wisely.

I suppose that people will come back after christmas, not everyone gets in to high planning mode until 6 months out and other people have other trips to plan first. I hope that not all the chatter is restricted to Facebook though as it's not for everyone, so long as the FE details remain on here then I'm happy. Really enjoyed doing it before, finding gifts that travel well and fit in to luggage is half the fun.:)

Thought I would say 'hello' - not been here for a while either, or done any real planning for a few weeks with one thing and another - life sure gets in the way of planning !!! ;)

Have now booked our flights with easyjet out of Liverpool on 24th July, and booked Novotel Barcelona City hotel for 2 nights pre-cruise. Am slightly panicked about the fact that our return flight is at 11am on 7th august - but it was either that or 10pm and we didn't much fancy hanging round Barcelona for a day with all our luggage and tired children ! The easyjet flight times weren't the best either way, but Liverpool airport is our nearest so we had to make do.

So nothing firmly planned as yet, but think we will be doing our own thing in Villefranche as getting to Monaco seems easy enough.

Hoping to do the DCL Pisa tour if there is availability and maybe a DCL Rome tour - but that's as far as I've got so far.

Have joined the FE group - DD's are very excited about that side of things and got some idea's of what we can bring along.

Looking forward to getting Xmas out of the way and getting into proper planning mode :wave2:
