7/24/2011 5 Night Disney Dream cruise

 oh noooos

i'm reading the online version of DCL passporter and have yet to find confirmation which floor of parking garage allows u to walk directly to terminal. So confused, have read both 3rd & 2nd! Anybody know 'fer sure?

Everything I've read, incl trip reports, said 3d. Good luck!:goodvibes

It's so quiet around here. Is everyone gone already? I think I'm going to have to start packing then :lmao:.

See everyone on Sunday!

Lauri

Hi Laurie, I'm still here! We are driving down on Saturday.:drive:

:beach:So today I managed to take DD to the pool for 2 hours because I've kept her home too much while I try to get the house and myself ready. Well those nice and cloudy 2 hours at the pool resulted in a lobster-esque sunburn!

So I'm not too happy about getting a sunburn today, but I am happy it happened now before the trip so I can add something to my list. If you guessed sunscreen...Wrong! That was already on my list. What I needed to add is ALOE for sunburn relief!

Still here! Still packing! Trying to remember it all! See you on Sunday if not before! :thumbsup2

We arrived in the Orlando area yesterday afternoon.

We now have 2 days to acclimatize with the time zone, and the doubling of the temperatures.

We now have to unpack everything, combine it to things to we already keep here, and then re-pack ready for Saturday evening.

Also just realized we have forgotten something, so it will be off to Florida Mall later today / tomorrow

Probably spend a lazy day today by the pool, and eat this evening at Raglan Road.

For everyone still to travel - Have a safe trip

Paul

Still here... Getting ready to drink the first of what will be many cups of coffee and then hit the ground running. I work one night a week as a program director (office person) at then martial arts school we call our second home - and we've got 3 instructors and the school owner at a conference thru Sunday - so I was working there after my "real" job the last 2 nights. Add in taking in a friend of the boys whose A/C had gone out at his house (it was 115 degrees in their main level when I picked him up)... And I've gotten nothing accomplished. :-)

Time to do last minute laundry and start packing! My sister and her family are on their way already - I feel so behind!

See you all real soon!

ouch. i've stayed out of sun/tanning bed except for a few days since beach trip, know i'd overdo it. After trip to ER a few years ago for particularly bad burn:guilty:was advised to take a Pepcid AC (it takes the red out) and benedryl, both seem to speed the process along.

no early EBIC on SWA, managed to get seats near end of group A anyway - yeah:banana:

I'm doing last minute laundry and thinking about packing, but my guess is that I won't do any packing until tonight after work or tomorrow morning. Our plane doesn't leave until 2:30 in the afternoon tomorrow so I've got time...but I am starting to freak out a bit that I won't have time to get everything done.

I've made my girls a list of chores that they need to do every day while we're gone. Most things on the list deal with all the animals that live here (3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 horses) so they can't really complain about the list since they love having the animals.

I just can't believe it's almost time to go!!!

I just got our "A" tickets for our Southwest flight tomorrow, and have the last two loads of laundry in the wash. DH and DS are both at work, and DS is staying till 10:30 tonight. We will be up late packing, and then off early tomorrow morning.

I'm so excited :cool1:. But my family has already told me we can't go to the port at 6AM :sad2:. I know I'll be up and ready to go by then Sunday morning.

See you all soon.

Lauri

Yea!!!! I went ahead and got early bird check in for our flights because the stress of check in freaks me out a bit, and I will be at work when it's time to check in, and then still on the ship for the return flight.

I am sure I am going to be up all night packing, but thankfully our flight doesn't leave until 2:30 in the afternoon tomorrow.

Just checked in for our SWA flight that leaves at 2:15 tomorrow - and we got the seat assignments we were hoping for (yay for Early Bird). Boys are packed, hubby is packing... and I'm sitting here on the couch waiting for him to finish so that I can finally have space on the bed to lay my stuff out and get it packed.

Safe travels to everyone - sounds like there might be a bunch of us all landing at MCO around the same time tomorrow...?

We land at 7:45 pm and then we're renting a car and driving to Cocoa Beach. My plan is to get a little beach time in Sunday morning (probably from about 9:30-10:30) then shower, take the rental back and head to the port.

I think I am pretty much packed.....but starting to freak out about forgetting things...I'm so glad we don't have an early flight.

The day is finally here - our turn to board the Disney Dream is only a matter of hours away.

Have fun everyone

Paul

Anyone else home yet? We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter yesterday and flew home this morning.

Sorry we didn't make it to the meet on the first day, but we lost track of time wandering around the ship. :rolleyes1

The ship was BEAUTIFUL, I loved our inside stateroom, the location was perfect for us since it was close to the adult pool.

Sucks to be home and have to clean up after myself, and make my own food...boo....I just want to run up to deck 11 and grab some fresh fruit and a cookie.

Yeah we got home last night. We stopped by Shades of Green to fill out paperwork, and then stopped by the Casting Office to fix my application. We were supposed to meet up with friends, but that didn't happen :( Oh well. I'll be back next week for job training for my first interview.

The ship was amazing. It did take us a couple of days to get our bearings though as it was so much bigger than the magic and wonder.

Concierge was also wonderful, although I did feel a little uneasy about being escorted onto the ship and bypassing everyone else waiting in line. I think we arrivived in the terminal at about 11:40, and was on the ship within 15 mins.

We are staying in Kissimmee for another couple of weeks, so still plenty of vacation time to go.

SO YOU GOT THE JOB!?!?! CONGRATS!!!

Anyone else suffering from withdrawal!? I have never had such a lump in my throat and felt so sad while fighting back tears at the end of a vacation! We had a blast and are planning the next one, but this time with the grandparents.

Well I find out about Shades tomorrow, but I did get the first job. It's a work at home, so I should be good to go even if I do get the Shades job-I can do both!
