7/24/2011 5 Night Disney Dream cruise

:banana:Anyone shopping for summer kids clothes, I just got back from Gymboree where everything in the store is $12.99 or less. This is at a mall location, not an Outlet. I like rashguard suits for DD when we have beach days, and found a really cute rashguard top with swim trunk bottoms. :beach:

If anyone (like me) is going to make your own FE for your door, there is a new thread posted today with a really easy, cute and inexpensive FE! Those meet all 3 of my requirements! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm going to check out the FE thread you mentioned. Not sure if I will make my own because I AM NOT a crafty person. But the DDs LOVE to create and decorate so I wil probably let them take the lead on that one. But the will have to do all of the decorating the day before we leave. Also going to check other sites online and see what's already made. :thumbsup2

if we're official then;)will you accept the nomination to co-ordinate the FE? (you've already done a great job rallying the troops:thumbsup2)

im going to be busy bee w/DS's 18th BD today, graduation next week, overnight college orientation and our trip to Myrtle Beach in one month:yay:. can we get a count as to total adults & children (age & sex?) & we'll need cabin numbers . Not sure if you want to post them publicly :confused3or handle via PM, let me know.

Sure! I will do my best, but I've never co-ordinated a FE before. Buuuuut I figure I organize everything else lol.

If everyone is ok with it, I'll start a separate thread-probably tomorrow morning, and ask to add it to the Cruise Meet sticky. I'm so excited! :woohoo:

Nuh-uh. Teenage boys are EASY, they like CASH!!!:woohoo::rolleyes1

Keishashadow...can't remember if you are a Baseballer too...are you going to Myrtle Beach for a baseball tournament? Our cruise starts smack dab in the middle of son's Myrtle Beach tournie...we haven't decided if he'll go for the first few days or skip it all together. Hmmm...:confused3

so true re boys & cash lol.

oh no, i'm sure you're catching so much heat:eek:. MB shouldn't be more than 10 hour drive from the port jik you do plan on attending. we've planned so trips for years around tournies/sports camps, etc. My youngest quit baseball 2 years ago to concentrate on tennis/basketball/soccer/track.

Ok I lied-I'm more awake than I thought I was so here goes!

thank you, off to check it out:thumbsup2

You won't have a chane to breathe...let alone be bored and twiddle your thumbs until cruise time! How awesome to have such a successful yard sale! We have never done one because we always give it away to Goodwill or the Salvation Army but every time I see the show "Clean House" I feel like I should try one!

About a year ago we decided that no more outgrown kid's clothes or toys would get put in the basement for storage-- it all got donated to a friend who does home day care and passed out among the 8 kids in her care and her own kids. We tried to bring stuff to Goodwill but they limit everyone to 2 bags a month and we had a crazy amount of accumulation over the last 9 years here. I put some of my clothes/shoes in drop off boxes that just got put near our Walmart and then when we found out we would be able to do the community yard sale, we figured we'd put whatever we could get up stairs in 2 days and sell it cheap to get rid of it all. I had more than a couple people thank me for selling things so cheap and some even begged me to take more money. We sold all the kids clothes for $2 a stuffed Walmart bag or $5 for a large garbage bag. Most of everything was name brand and went rather quick. My DH made the mistake of putting a huge tote out I wanted saved for DS10 when he could fit into it (from my ds14) and everything is gone including about 15 expensive football jerseys. Oh well, I figure the people who bought it needed it more than we did. We have gone through most of the rest of our basement household items that were not being used and have a garage full to donate this coming Friday to a new Community Aid thrift shop that just opened last week. Feels good to have an empty basement!

10 days until I head to Disney with ds10 and my friend Beth and her daughter Leah for Star Wars weekend events. Leah has no idea yet and Beth plans to tell her the morning that we leave. Baseball has been consuming our life lately but we are off of it today and tomorrow. 12 games between both boys from Monday through next Saturday though. Their last day of school is next Friday. The cruise will be here before we know it!

You are making me tired thinking about your busy schedule! And I thought WE were bad! 12 games for the week! :scared1:

Your community garage sale sounds like a fantastic idea! We've never participated in ours but maybe now would be a good time to start. My only problem is that I have NO desire to "roast" in the Texas heat on a Saturday! And honey, it is HOT, HOT, HOT here...and it's not summer yet.

You're right, we'll be cruising before you know it. The ticker is counting down...SLOOOOOOOWWWWWWLLLY.

As I sit here in the wee hours of the morning running end-of-month processes (have to love working in the IT field in the banking industry), I'm practically giddy over the fact that I only have to get through one more of these before we set sail!

So... Happy June to all. For those of you with kids already done with school like mine are, I hope they're not driving you crazy. And for those of you stuck in the whirlwind that is the last couple of weeks of school - good luck!

Hi all!

Guess where we will all be Next Month!!!!

To the BB moms. Anyone going to do a tournament in LI over 4th of July weekend? We will be there. We did Myrtle Beach over Easter break.

DE will be end of August. Anyone there?

See you all soon.

Not so sure about the FE. My kids are ds-13 and dd-17 and don't think I can pack much more into what I know will be an already stuffed suitcase (we are flying).

Checked online last night, and we have a room assignment-it feels real now!! We got our 9A Gty, no upgrade-oh well!

Congrats on the room assignment! We're at 50 days out now! Tooooo excited!!:banana::banana:

Just checking in to look at my tickers - hee hee.

was reading the Drinks Pics thread - yum. That Tiki Room recipe looks like a fruity mojito...mmmmm.

OMG!!! Is it to soon to start packing???:cool1::cool1: lol!! Only 40 days left!!!

Sooo excited:rotfl: for our first Disney Cruise!!! But I am alittle nervous about some of the reviews about the ship being too crowded. Has anyone esle read similar reviews???

DS10 Brennan and I leave for Star Wars weekends stuff at WDW in 48 hours. We can't wait. My boys finished school this past Friday. Brennan finished his regular baseball season Saturday and starts play offs this week. Traveling all stars start next week for him. DS14 Keegan has 5 baseball games this week and 5 next week but will miss a couple when my DH and Keegan go to Ocean City, MD for a couple of days. Keegan doesn't like anything Star Wars and has gone to a few SWW with us but doesn't want to go this year. My DH disc jockeys weddings on Saturdays (he's a full time police officer) so he can't come this trip. They will head to Ocean City after his dj job Saturday. We all can't wait for our big trip in July!!

I have to wrap stuff up at work by tomorrow morning and get packing. I'm really hoping it's not as hot as it was when we were there this time last June. I did buy a few quick dry Nike/Under Armour shirts so I hope they help.

Beth and her dd8 Leah (who will be on our cruise with their family--her dh, ds11 and ds15) are also going to be flying down with us and also staying at Kidani a few days for SWW. Leah has no idea yet about the trip.

I hope everyone is enjoying the nicer weather. We've had couple cool days this past week but it's so much nicer than all that rain we had last month!

I am not going to pack until two weeks out. I have heard of some people on the boards that begin packing 3 months out! I am so excited that it would probably make it worse for me if I packed too early.

I have read posts about it being crowded and posts about it never felt like there were 4000 people on the ship at the same time. I think it will depend on whether you want to be a "peak time" person or an "off peak time" person. No need to use the Aquaduck during peak times if there is going to be a long wait. The boards are helpful in letting us know all that info.:thumbsup2

I could start packing some of my stuff. I have shirts that I got specifically for the cruise lol

I've been keeping an eye out for sales on things we'll need (Kohl's had some nice dresses that would travel well on sale this past weekend), and I've picked up a new suitcase... But my boys are both in middle of growth spurts. I already told them that they're going to have to plan on suffering through shopping for pants the week of the cruise - I refuse to buy those now and have them be outgrown!

So very true!! Thats good advice! Ill defently wait for the "off peak time". I have read that either really earlie or real late is the best time to ride aquaduck with out a huge line!!
