We're off to Ireland and the Peak District for 2 weeks in 2009 as a "cheap holiday" as we've got a Black Tie dinner and dance at the London Aquarium for 120 people for Joshua barmitzvah exactly 365 days before this cruise

We're going to start by getting the ferry over to Cork and spend a couple of days in Kinsale, it's the gourmet center of Ireland. We plan on going into Cork one day as it's got a fantastic museum for the Titanic as that was the last port of call before it left for America.

We're then going to drive northwards and stop overnight at Athlone and stay in an enviromently friendly guesthouse where everything is "green" and/or recylcled. Then we're off to stay in a castle just outside Dublin before staying in Bushmills for 2 nights so we can visit the Bushmills distillery and The Giant's Causeway. Then we get the overnight ferry back to mainland UK - I'm sure it'll be just like our stateroom on The Magic NOT We're going to stay on a working farm in the middle of the Peak District for a week where we can do lots of walking and hopefully get to go in some of the fantastic caves they have there. Also the boys will be able to help out on the farm and earn their keep !!!!

It's going to be a very different holiday for us as up until now we've always gone to exotic long haul places or WDW/DCL. In fact the DCL Med cruise was really our first trip in Europe with the kids.

Im trying to figure out a way to somehow highlight or mark the people going again- any ideas?? I figure we can try to get as many on board as possible!! Just think of all the new friends we will have by the time this thread is a year old... we better find a new spot for a bigger photo!!!For all our new cruisers.. here is our group photo from our summer 06 Med cruise- we all met right here and are still friends!!

What amazes me the most is that I can remember the names of almost everyone in that picture. That proves that we've made lasting friendships.


Now Izzi, don't start with the "beans on toast" again. We still thought "toads in the hole" were real toads!!!!

That's way too funny - the poor man. I'm sure many DH's feel the same way at times.
But I have a question as I've seen you post the same info twice: Wasn't your Med cruise in 2007? I'm sure it does seem like it was that long ago, but we don't want to rush things too much, that takes away time for saving up for the Baltics cruise.

Ok, thx to Sallie for posting what we can ALL EXPECT on our cruise in 2010! We did sail the Med in 2007 and had an amazing experience................honestly, the cruise was "to die for" but planning with the "above" group was unbelievable!! Brace yourselves...........it will be an amazing and bumpy ride!!!!!!!
