ok just one or two things I feel I have to point out

1. We're already on the 3rd page of posts for this thread and booking for this cruise are not even being taken yet :rotfl: :rotfl2:

2. I did find out today that my mum has already taken this cruise so I'm ready to ask her any questions and pick her brain about all the places and ports of call

3. we need to find a name for this thread and for our cruise as 7/18/2010 12 night northern european capitals cruise just DOES NOT have enough "Je ne sais quoi" about it.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

1.Happy new Year:wizard:

2. Blank-Blank-Blank Back from the Baltic! no not it, From Russia with Love!
or Da its Dsiney!

I am adding this later

HiHo HiHo its off to Russia we go, there Diesel fuel is cheap we know HiHo HiHo,

...

This is one time when I recommend going over to cruise critic and looking at their Ports of Call European threads to get lots of info for this cruise. That's where I got a lot of my info for our cruise this past summer.

Hope this helps some.
Barb

Barb, thanks so much. Very interesting indeed.

Disney says no if you are on one of the official tours offered by Disney. Yes if you intend to go on your own. Also if you go off on your own, you will need a sponsor. And I believe the sponsor has to be a state licensed tour company.

It sounds easier...and safer to just stick with Disney on this one. (They mentioned a tour to Moscow too)

Thank you all for your wonderful responses. Seems like we will have another WONDERFUL ......er.....should I say......MAGICAL group of friends reuniting for Round II. pixiedust:

Hey, hey how about "From Russia with Mouse" as a cruise trip name ???

Or.......TO RUSSIA WITH MOUSE ????

Or something like that?

Yes I know my signature looks odd but it's a work in progress so please bear with me for a couple of days

I'm reading on another thread that some folks have already got their cabin assignments for these European cruises even though the "official" bookings have not yet opened up as they've contacted Inventory Control and they've had written confirmation...:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I'm not sure if this is fair to us other folk or I'm just feeling jealous that they've been able to do this

Totally agree with you on this!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

But then I have to say that I have a really good TA working on my booking so I have no clue when I will hear back from her with my request. But then if I don't keep changing my request she might have something for me sooner.

O yeah - does anyone know if we are going to have to get visas to get off on our own at St. Petersburg? Inquiring minds want to know. See, this is what I mean, I have to figure out where to go and hunt down all this info.

On our EBPC we had some very creative and inquiring minds that went out and found the info for dumb dumbs like me that ride others coattails. Now, I am wondering if I have to do this..........WHERE OH WHERE IS ANDREW???

:mic: AndrewDerek - please make an appearance, you are being paged. Calling AndrewDerek.......has anyone seen AndrewDerek? :rotfl2:

I spoke to Andrew on his Panama Canal thread and he said he doen't like to post until he books, so I'm sure he'll be by on 10/14!:cheer2:

Well as I have been hunted down and stalked and coerced into posting here I am very very sorry to say,:scared1: that I do intend to be on this cruise, :3dglasses

But I will be very pleased to meet you all again,:thumbsup2

Hi Everybody,

We've already talked to our TA about switching our onboard rebooking to this cruise. We'll have to see how the price for the cruise and for airfare turn out, but we really really really want to do this cruise!

Our family is Mike (Me), Linda (DW), Zack (DS 12 at the time -who will be just a few weeks shy of 13), Hailey (DD 10 at the time), and Nick (DS10 at the time)

I love the name "To Russia, with Mouse" for the thread!

Thanks for the link to the baltic cruise blog. Off to check that out now!

Hellloooooooooooo there Joanne, just been speaking to Sallie P and I've put us down for this cruise as a possible as well. Trouble is in the UK school doesn't stop for the summer until Friday 23th July so I guess we'll just have to wait and see....also depends on the prices as well I guess......even so Dover is only 2 hours from my house !!!!!

I think my kids would be out of school for three days, the internet for my Education authority is:-

Summer term 2010
20 April to 21 July 2009

First half
19 April to 28 May
29 days

May Day
3 May

Half Term
31 May to 4 June

Second half
7 June to 21 July
35 days

Wow, I'm seriously thinking of booking this cruise........more details to follow!:thumbsup2

It is sooooo good to hear from you Izzi.
Hope Paul & Ethan & Josh are well. Sallie said she would contact you. We are on board for the 18th as well and Sandra & Gerry are considering it too. Harole Ann & Garry and Jan & Howie are also going and it seems Andrew & family and Julie, too. Unfortunately Helen can't because of school and haven't heard from Lynn but she probably can't because of school as well.

So, it may just be a little mini-reunion. How exciting!!!!!!!!!

OK - throwing my hat in "just in case." And also to subscribe.

Steve and I are planning on booking a couple and then seeing where the dust lands. I really want to do the repo but the temptation to do this one was too much. Plus, MaryAnn and Julie said I should DO IT! :rotfl2: So, I'm just doing it. Heck, we have like 18 months of so to figure out how to pay for it. :lmao:

But I agree with MaryAnn's observation. The family and I still talk about our Europe trip. It still to this day brings a smile to my face. And the thought of going to these places with friends? Just icing on the cake! :thumbsup2 :teeth:

OMG! HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT MARY JO:scared1:

:faint:

Yes, I hope she comes, that would be icing on the cake. Now I'm getting so :dance3: and its still way, way off. I can see that I'm going to get on everyone's nerves the next couple years. :lmao:

Anyone else in the same :boat:

Hello Andrew how are you doing ? I hope all your family are well. That's good your school dates work out but my kids published by the school dates are

Summer term 2010
Thursday 8th April to Friday 23rd July 2010

Lynn is also still in school but as the headmistress I think she's rearranging her holiday so she can make it as well. As it's the last week of the school year I'm hoping the boys headmaster will look upon us favourably and give the boys the few extra days as their attendance is otherwise very good.

Oh my god, Quick I need to phone my travel agent to swap cruises!!!!:rotfl2: :) Sallie nice to hear from you again, Alice will be very pleased to see Carley again, I will let her know,

Alice will be going with the guides to Disneyland Paris shortly before this cruise so she will get her fill of Europe in 2010.

I think for this one I will be doing more DCL trips, maybe train to Berlin, but St Ptersburg will for an example be DCL.

Doing fine in this part of London and it will be nice to be able to Drive to the cruise from home.

I firstly ruled this cruise out as I was worried about school, but I think we clip in to three days only and they usually do not do much on thoose days Alice should take her Exams that year two years early!

OOOOHHHHHHHH this thread is all coming together........just like old times  :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hello, All. I'm in, too! I've decided to join this cruise. I'll be eating crackers and peanut butter for two years to pay for it, but I think it's worth it. Two days in St. Petersburg, and the Hermitage works for me! I look forward to meeting you all.:cool1:
