At least you've looked for it, I was by Barnes & Noble last night and forgot to look for it.

I think you can get a lot of his information online.....his website is good. After all, we won't be traveling all over all the countries, only one day in the captials. And we don't have to look for accomodation, either.

:wave2:Good Morning All:wave2:
I have decided that we are going to take it easy on this cruise and with the exception of STP try to avoid full day touring!

:thumbsup2 Does that mean a lot of local beer tasting in each port? :drinking1

Dont forget we are in the hinderland not just Beer Schnaps as well!:thumbsup2: :drinking1

Beer was the first thing that came to mind and I don't even drink it. Schnapps never even came to mind. But we can't forget the vodka that will be given in the shops in StP. :drinking1

Now were talking!:thumbsup2:woohoo::dance3:

Speaking of :drinking1 , anyone know the official drinking age in each country?

Good morning:goodvibes
Gonna run my crew ragged. They can sleep on sea days.

Does anyone know which day/evening the ball at Catherine's Palace will be?
:confused3Don't know, sorry.

Yeah I was gonna say hope they are not disappointed when they finally get the book. I think most if not all the information is available some place on the internet, but it is nice having all that info from those ports in one book.
I found a highlighter to the edges of the pages made it easier to find the info I wanted quicker.

They probably will when the excursions are posted for booking.
:thumbsup2
I was just griping because I was waiting for the posted excursion info to make decisions about going to Berlin via DCL or going private. Their disclaimer about the passenger being responsible for getting themselves back to port if they missed the train made me nervous.

mmm Schnapps:woohoo: I drank that alot in college:laughing:
Not a beer or vodka drinker :confused3

Yes but remeber it is a VACATION you can always go back again (It even gives you a reason) if you see alot of interesting sights!

You most have been a big party girl!:dance3::woohoo:

Just out of curiosity...

how many folks are lurking out there:rolleyes1

Lurking and copying information that you wonderful people post into emails to the rest of the family. They are all very grateful for the information presented here.

We are looking to add some more people to our St Petersburg tour:thumbsup2
Right now it is a group of 8 (my family of 4 and alanapapa and caropooh). We have the standard tour for Anastasia that includes the Hermitage.

Looked up your info on the first page and your DD will turn 7 on the cruise. Hard to tell with that age group:confused3
Even my DS16 and DD12 get cranky sometimes if I drag them around too much:rolleyes1
But I would feel guilty leaving mine on board while I toured Russia too.
Maybe just the first day like Barb suggested is the best compromise:confused3

Sorry for the delay in my response!

I sent you a PM.

Thanks!
Monica

Ellissa got back to me straight away. They haven't confirmed the summer times yet, but 1130am is most likely time to depart. The difference between DCL & doing it this way (other than cost) is not stopping at a viking ship play area, an ice cream & transport to the start - I think I can live with that!!!

NO ICE CREAM??????

True, but this way I will have lots of information right at hand.

I notice you have a tag saying you need to post LOTS more! Keep that in mind! :)

As I posted on the Baltic Info thread! Now I can give you a hard time on 2 threads Doubll the Pleasure Double the Fun!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:popcorn::

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Looks like we'll be drinking with the oldest kids in Germany, 16 is the legal age for beer and wine there. :drinking1
All other countries drinking is 18 on premise.

Here's the link to drinking ages that was provided on the Baltics info thread: http://icap.org/table/MinimumAgeLimitsWorldwide

Oddly enough I was given that tag by a mod that was on my cruise during the last med cruise when I spent most of the time lurking and not posting :)

My first trip to Europe! I have been waiting for this for a long time! Not sure when we will get to visit again as it took me over 40 years to get to this one! Plus I still have Italy to visit. I'll take it slow when I'm old;)

You most have been a big party girl!:dance3::woohoo:
Oh I was:rolleyes1 Really amazing I managed to make it out of U of R with a degree:laughing: Can't drink much now, but I'll be sure to have some wine or schnapps on this cruise

Oh I agree this forum is a great place to get info for planning:thumbsup2
I've learned so much from the folks here:grouphug:

:lmao::lmao:I'm sure you can pick some up after the tour

I have been posting on this forum since 2002 and still have yet to get a tag:guilty: Like Mike said before I think I have tag fairy repellent:rolleyes:

Something to think about for those lurking. A woman that was on the PC repo with me once posted that she was a little unnerved by the people that approached her on a cruise acting as if they knew her...since they had been lurking they felt that they did, but since they didn't post she felt that they were complete strangers. So as I read this while I was lurking:rolleyes1 I decided to get up the nerve to post:confused3 I was very glad that I did as I had a lot of fun with the people on that cruise:goodvibes
There's no obligation to hang out with anyone on the cruise but it is nice to bump into folks and say "hi". I had some very nice chats during that cruise:cloud9:

I have had that a lot people coming up and saying are you Andrew of the UK, in fact in 2008 in Disneyland USA, pre Panama cruise, I understand there was a guy who looked British and people had been approaching him.

One Disser who sort of knew me, went up to him, and as they did he snapped '' No I am not Andrew of the UK, but I am sure he has a lot of friends;;.

Looking at thread views, you can see there are far higher lurkers than posters. In some ways I can understand as it opens you up to PM's and enquires, I like helping, but some have used me as their personal concierge!!

Now you shouldn't do this but why not PM that Tag Fairy!!!! ( Tag Fairy ; ) tell her I never made it to Tortola!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Not sure what you meant by the Tortola reference until I looked at your tag:lmao:

I don't post much on the main board anymore so I'm guessing that is the reason why I don't have a tag yet:confused3

I was just remembering my own days as a lurker and how glad I was that I started posting. My fear of missing out overcame my shyness;)
