7/18/2010 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo!! Part 5

I have found some of the tour groups don't respond to my emails on a weekend. :confused3
It might be that they are closed or just that they are busy or that the person designated to answer emails is off or busy on the weekend:confused3
Plus my DH reminds me that the time difference probably plays a big part too for us in the US.

It is a 9 hour time difference from the east coast. :scared1:

Ok, $20/adult isn't that bad...if we have time we might stop in to check it out. I was thinking it would be more than that.

I got my tourist packets from Germany and Tallinn so far. Finally my DH is starting to get interested in the planning. Still waiting on the other tourist packets.
Have you had a chance to look at the Rick Steves book?
Wondering if it is as good as the hype??:confused3

I was thinking the garden admission was more as well. Definately doable with my friends for that price.

Forgot the answer....how did you find out who/where to email to get the tourist info sent to you?

:goodvibesGood Morning All:goodvibes
Looks like we might break freezing here today!:woohoo:
Barb it is really looking like you will have company in Wundermunde!:grouphug:

Found these on one of the other DCL Baltic threads:

http://www.tourism.tallinn.ee/fpage/travelplanning/brochures

http://www.visitcopenhagen.com/

http://www.visitoslo.com/en/advantages.52087.en.html

http://www.europeancitycards.com/citycard.asp?cur=235&id=236

Can't find the one for Germany, but I can tell you that the packet of info I got for Germany had nothing in it for Warnemunde anyway:confused3

Any way to get a temporary cell phone for Germany (like they sell here in the US)?

Yeah, gotta laugh:laughing:, I was trying to figure out when I should expect a reply from one tour company one time and my DH pointed out to me that I sent my email at 2 in the morning their time and I should be more patient expecting a response:rolleyes1

Thanks for putting these here all in one place! I am in full planning mode right now! We are so excited but there is so much to do.

Our plans are coming together, but I have a lot of work cut out for me.

:)

Nicole I love full planning mode:laughing::thumbsup2

I have mostly concentrated on St P and Germany for now, the other ports are easier I think to do on your own so planning for them can happen closer to cruise time.
There are also a bunch of links on the first page as well.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Patience is not one of my strengths, especially when I need to plan something like this so I fully understand.

'Morning Robert and everyone else

Hope you can break the freezing mark today. They say we will as well but I'll believe it when I see it. Calling for more snow again next Saturday. :headache:

The streets of Warnemunde won't know what they are in for. :dance3: :woohoo: :flower3:

Barb, I got my revised itinerary today, they said they didn't get my last message. One problem with the revised itinerary is the date!! They have me down for the 12th and 13th. :scared1:
Is your boat tour private? That's what she has listed for us on the first evening.

Are you having dinner in port or on the ship?
If in port what restaurant?

Dinner?? We don't have time for dinner. We have places to go, people to see!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Our boat trip is from 6:30 to 7:30 and back at the ship at 8:00. The girls are going to be hungry.............

Can I throw this quote out from the trip report Laurie shared with us?

Warnemunde "This little town had a very nice beach....also a nude beach!"

About that little meet on the beach.......bring LOTS of suntan lotion!:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::cool1::lmao::rotfl2:

Our boat ride doesn't say anything about it being private. Maybe we can request to go on the same boat since it's for the same time.

Dinner in port? YOu must be crazy woman, that's what bringing snacks is all about.

Bring snacks and they will be fine.
If we are on the same boat tour the kids can all whine together about being hungry. Plus we can threaten them if they whine too much about it we'll throw them into the river and it's not pretty water. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Definately not the reason for the beach meet there. I didn't know this but it certainly doesn't surprise me especially after hearing the 'sights' people saw while on tours in Berlin. Let's just say.....the men don't wear much if anything while 'hanging' out at the parks in Berlin. :scared: Yup, that's the sights you might be seeing in Berlin.
At least the one park we drove by in StP the old people were wearing a little something. Not the sight we all wanted to see there either. :scared1: :scared:

Not a surprise. I guess you and your son will have bonding time while in Warnemunde. :rotfl2: :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I never gave it any thought since we didn't walk very far on the beach. But if it was posted on the signs we couldn't read them anyways.

OK, who is going to do planning of excursions for Andrew, the girls and I? I know Laurie is helping me out with St Petersburg , but what about all the other ports? You guys are all so orginized!
