7/18/2010 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo!! Part 5

I have had a few PM's telling me/advising me to bite my lip,(Sorry guys)

As you may recall me posting my sister cruised the Baltic recently,

Phoned her.

They had immigration and boarder control on their return, now it was Harwich, but I would guess its the same, but heck we are from the UK so it doesnt count.

Can I respectfully post,

I recent weeks there have been a number of posts about us British, translations of English to American, and telling everyone what is happening here and our transport, etc, I found those condesending to us Brits.

Now I and others who post on this thread live in the UK, we are here all the time. We live here, but when our input is given -you have confirmed in your last I get *abrupt* answers.

We might disagree, I am not a lover of National express and personally feel advice given out on this is wrong (imho), and will effect cruisers on this thread. I would like everyone here to have a fantastic cruise and wonderful experience in London.

I bet this post will get edited.

But its a shame is come to this, I noted a few snipes at my posts last night, and history is repeating it itself yet again.

To everyone here have a nice cruise, its my family's vacation and if I can request one final curtsey, please leave us to enjoy lour cruise and vacation on our own. The ship is big enough, i have paid a lot for a good vacation.

THANKS. :sad2:

Oh my Andrew, this sounds too much like "goodbye". I hope you will still post here as you have so much info to offer us - and I do enjoy your wit. It certainly perks up my day!:yay:

anyone else freaked out by what happened in Moscow:confused3

:sad2::sad2:

Ah....yes. :scared1:
I think we'll play it by ear if we will still do the subway ride in StP. At least there's nothing to buy ahead of time and if we drop it from our schedule that just gives us more time for another stop or go back to the ship a little bit early.

I thought the same thing Barb. We can always stay a little longer at another stop.

I just wanted to apologize to everyone for a couple of posts on here today. :flower3: :grouphug: Many of us don't like being told we are wrong when we've been thru something in the past. Yes things can change, but then again things can stay the same or change back to the way they were.

It is beautiful isn't it:thumbsup2

There is a thread on the main DCL forum where they make the door magnets/signs. You go to that thread and go to the last page-then start going back until you find one like this (I think this might be the easiest way for a newbie to manage this:confused)
This should not take long as I noticed alot of people requesting this only lately. Quote one of them and ask Milliepie to make one for you with your name on it or with what you want it to say. When she posts it (it might take a day or so for her to get it posted depending on how busy she is)-you just need to click (once or twice) on it to open it-then right click to save it to your computer.

When you are ready to make it into a door magnet-let us know. There are several ways you can do this.

Let us know if you need more help or want one of us to request it for you.
I can go check on that thread and see if I can find one of these to give you an idea of what page it is on.
Thank you for your help. I sent in my request. We are sooo excited about this cruise!

Also saw that they cut the time in port for Stockholm for one of the June cruises. That has got to be a pain for anyone that bought their Stockholm card.

Anyway to predict or place to check to see if the tides would affect other cruises:confused3

Any navy people out there:confused3

I read that and became a bit worried myself. I hope the tides settle down by July. It impacts not only the value of the Stockholm card, but anyone who has booked a private excursion.

:goodvibesGood Morning All! Did I miss much?:rolleyes1:lmao:;)
Still raining in MA wettest March Ever!:headache:

We were on the Wonder in January next to the Oasis in Nassau. I had to take 3 pictures to get the whole ship photographed! My parents were on the Oasis last month and said they enjoyed it but probably would not go on it again. They said at times you could tell it had 6,000 people on board especially at breakfast. They said the shows were good and had fun on the zip line and ice skating. They liked the various restaurants on board but many of them had additional fees. They went to the really nice adults only restaurant and I think it was a $35 charge per person. They liked it but said their meal at Palo was better.

Did everyone see the Kids Sail Free promotion for the 6/12 and 6/24/2010 12 Night cruises? It sure would be nice to have for our cruise! Would we get a refund? I know they've changed some rules after being paid in full.

It would be nice, but you know it's not going to happen because most if not all school's are out for the last 2 cruises!:sad2::sad1:

I would save a bundle as well!

My TA said our cruise was the most requested Baltic cruise she booked and that more people wanted to visit Tallin than Helsinki so I thought from that we probably wouldn't see discounts. We can hope though! It would be awesome to be able to use that extra money towards excursions and the hotel.

Here's a picture I took of the front of the Oasis fo the Seas. You can see the tip of the Wonder to the left and how much larger the Oasis is in comparison. There were 5 ships docked in Nassau by the time we left!

I was thinking along the same lines too. I really want to see their metro first hand-but if this looks like a trend I may just pass:confused3
I was feeling silly about being nervous about it, so glad I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Thank you for your help. I sent in my request. We are sooo excited about this cruise!
Glad I could help:goodvibes
On our last big cruise it was great to walk down the halls and see all the decorated doors.
Really excited about this cruise as well:woohoo:
So glad I have people here to talk about it with as my family is totally apathetic:headache:

Oh yeah:thumbsup2
I'm planning on doing everything by private tour so a little worried that I'm going to have to scramble at the last minute:eek:
I thought the tides were predictable and followed the phases of the moon:confused3 Shouldn't we know way in advance what they will be:confused3

Check this link out it shows the Wonder next to the Oasis check out the whole first page of the thread as there are several different picrures!:3dglasses

Very cool pics:thumbsup2
While I admit to being intrigued by the big ships...I like the fact that I know where everything is on DCL and that if I forget something in my cabin it is a quick trip to get what I need.
Gotta try one of those big ones some day though.

Even if they offer that for our sailing-in order to get it you probably will have to cancel your existing reservation and re-book. I would do the calculations ahead of time to make sure you come out ahead.
For my family...I don't think we would come out ahead because we would probably lose our 10% re-booking discount that we transfered from our last cruise:confused3
Also no guarantee you would get the catagory room you wanted either.
Dreams Unlimited Travel used to give you credit if the cruise price dropped...but I think they stopped doing that:confused3

This cruise is getting so expensive (excursions and must-have souvenirs) I would love to see it drop in price:headache:

Oh yeah, that I can believe. We took one look at the pictures of Tallin and we were hooked:lovestruc
What a beautiful city!

I didn't think we'd get the credit without cancelling/rebooking. I know they used to give the lower price automatically but I thought for sure that Disney had changed the rules. We booked the 1st day we could and had the 10% off/obc from a dummy cruise so I'm sure we wouldn't be able to match that price with the ksf promo.

We were in Nassau in Jan. and saw the Oasis and it's just HUGE! We were out on our verandah when it left and the back is lit in blue neon, it was pretty cool looking at it left port in the dark. We were in one of the jewelry stores in town (I know...what a surprise) and the clerk looked up and then pointed it out to us since we could see it pulling into port while in the shop.

Our tablemates had originally booked a cruise on it for later in the year and then cancelled it. The mom took one look at the ship in port and decided they need to sail on it. She said she was going to go home and figure out a date to book a cruise on it.
