I agree with Barb. Bling helps!!!!! :thumbsup2

Speaking of bling......DH took me to the jewelry store tonight and I actually walked out without buying anything or even trying anything on. :confused3 :headache: :sad1: :scared: Nothing jumped out and screamed "BUY ME" and the ring I wanted the last time we were there was gone and DH was happy about that. :headache:
So...since he's in the jewelry buying mood (21st anniversary is Wednesday) I think we'll go visit our local jeweler tomorrow and see what he has or can get from Philly. He went to the other store tonight since he knew I could most likely find a Hearts of Fire piece, but not tonight.

You sure do - just agree with us and take us on vacations and all will be right with the world. Throwing in some bling every now and then doesn't hurt either. :lmao:   princess: :flower3:

Linda picked out the next piece of bling that she wants. A Tiffany key necklace. Of course we both agree that the gold ones are the nicest, but unfortunately, also the priciest.

Just had to post..............................

:cool1:

The pound has risen to its strongest level this year against the dollar, as investors grew less pessimistic about the health of the UK banking sector.

Sterling climbed as high as $1.5523 against the dollar - the highest since mid-December. It also rose against the euro to 1.1410 euros.

The pound got a lift as UK bank shares gained on hopes the worst might be over for the battered sector.

In January, the pound hit a 23-year low of $1.35 against the dollar.

Last July, the pound was worth more than $2 but fell sharply as the depth of the UK's economic downturn became clear.

Optimism about the UK's financial sector was sparked by a Financial Times report that the government was considering a sale of its shares in Lloyds and RBS.

Currency analysts expect the pound to continue to strengthen, particularly against the euro, as economic data from the euro zone continues to be gloomy.

"There is no doubt the UK economy is still in a bad way," said Mark O'Sullivan, director of dealing at Currencies Direct, a London-based foreign exchange trader.

"But currency markets are taking the view that sterling will outperform both the dollar and euro going forward," he added.

Ooooooh, I am glad we bought pounds when we did. Good for you, Andrew, not so good for us. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it could be good for us all???? Hopefully things will be getting better that we all won't have to be watching the exchange rates too closely.

I'll bet you'll be enjoying your summer vacation a lot more now, Andrew! :woohoo:

Wow Mike....don't know what to say about that bling. :scared1: :scared:  My guess is that Linda didn't pick that one out. :lmao:

I think Linda deserves that Tiffany necklace for putting you thru school, oops...I mean supporting you thru school all those years. So just take her to KofP and buy it for her. Actually I got a gold Tiffany necklace not too long ago and it was under $400. which is a great price for Tiffany gold. So they do have some decent prices on gold.

We ended up going to our 'normal' jeweler and I found what I was looking for, a sapphire bracelet, and DH found a silver chain that he liked. So it was a good day for both of us. :yay:

'Morning everyone.
DH actually brought me home roses this morning for our anniversary, I was totally shocked. CAn't remember the last time he gave me flowers. :flower3:

'Morning Robert and everyone else.

I guess the teachers are in the end of school mode, some of us are in packing mode, and some of us are being rather shy and quiet. :dance3:

My feelings were hurt with the JOJO comment.:sad1:

So my DD22, has started grad school yesterday, just 6 days after graduation. How nuts is that?:confused3

What's everyone doing for Memorial Day? Sorry, Andrew, any bank holidays for you this weekend?

Has Julie left for the UK? Isn't Andrew going to Venice soon?

My youngest has informed me that she's bring 10 friends down to the shore this weekend. I have 3 beds and a pull-out couch. So much for the "empty nest?":scared1:

Hi JoAnn -- I won't leave until the night of the 15th of June, so I am here for a while . . . just busy as we head toward the end of the school year for the girls . . .
