Izzi, you need a couple of these this morning. :grouphug: :grouphug: What a nightmare for all of you. That's great that Josh is responsible enough to figure out what to do though, even if you do have to figure out how to get him home tonight. And what is Mr. Au Pair doing today? Working out?

You got it

Oh, I believe it. The way it works is this:
1. Starbucks sees a small drop in profits.
2. Starbucks anticipates a huge drop due to a failing economy.
3. Starbucks lays off thousands of people.
4. Among those people are the entire team responsible for stocking regular coffee (or any other popular product).
5. Not having regular coffee (or said product), hundreds of thousands of irate customers abandon Starbucks.
6. Starbucks has a huge drop in income (see item #2) because of not having product (see # 5).
7. Go to step 3 - repeat until Starbucks follows the path of Circuit City.

See, I coulda been an economist :rolleyes1

Sadly, I think you nailed that one on the head.

So the weather saga this morning goes like this.

At 6:10am there is the biggest clap of thunder you've ever heard, the house shook and the windows rattled, but there was just one clap. Then 10 mins later the snow storm started and it was still snowing at 6:50am when Josh and I left. I got to the train station and the train came almost on time and I got to work just fine. Josh called me at 7:40am to say his bus was stuck and going no where and the other 3 buses that follow his were also stuck :crazy2: :crazy2: . So at 8:30am the bus drivers decide that it's to unsafe to drive the buses carrying the kids any further as they are stuck ontop of a hill and all the kids have to go home. Josh has no way of getting home so makes arrangements to go with one of his bus friends to this kids house for the day as they can walk there in 10 mins. At 9:30 Josh's school announces that as there has been some transport disruption this monring and some kids made it in and others didn't they are going to shut early at 11am.

So now I have Josh at a friends house, Ethan at school (which according to the head teacher is going to remain open) and Paul and I at work with more heavy snow forecast for later this afternoon.

What a bloody 'Mare :crazy2:  ::yes:: :rolleyes2 :scared:

Good luck dealing with this weather. Keeping your family in our thoughts that you all stay safe and warm.:grouphug:

:cold: Good Morning All :cold:
Its 0 outside

Good morning to you too.

You make my 10 degrees feel like a heatwave. :woohoo:

The good thing is that Josh is safe and warm and you know where he is and that everyone else made it where they were supposed to be this morning. :grouphug:

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: That is so sad. Did you keep taking your bag of coffee down there so they could make you cups of coffee all day and evening? :confused3
At least both companies are giving you something. I hope they are more than $5. each to cover the cost of your bag of coffee. :rotfl:

I can't believe a Starbucks ran out of coffee:coffee: :coffee: :coffee: I am so glad both the hotel and Starbucks got back to you.

and maybe this is why Starbucks is laying off 6000 people(or some such amount) and closing stores....

I hope you get back more that just what you paid for the coffee.

BTW did they make you pay for the actual making of the coffee as well as for the beans ??
No, just the bag. I actually glad that someone cared about my concern. I agree with you Dan!:coffee:

We have to be sensitive of the WC'ers and the OTP'ers that can't make and want to be with us. We aren't supposed to be mentioning that round baked crust with toppings and everyone sitting around eating it and geting to know each other better. :scratchin :lmao:

Well I don't know what you mean by WC'ers and OTP'ers but I STILL KNOW
THAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT PIZZA AT THE BALLYHOO MEET !!!

Setting off home now, I'll pick Josh up on the way. It's been a mixture of rain/snow/sleet since about 10am ish so hopefully the roads will be pretty clear, although according to the BBC the UK is now dangerously low of rock salt/grit i.e we've just about run out :scared: :scared: :scared:

Well we are not all doomed, London is ok, Salt supplies are a little low, but London missed the majority of the bad weather, it went a bit South West and Devon Cornwall got the worst of it.

We woke at 6.10am to lighting and the biggest clap of Thunder I have ever herd, but we had rain and sleet that 'washed' the snow away, however I have been on my travels all aorund London and its a mixed bag, on mile you are in snow, another mile wet, another area still has heavy sleet.

Its going away now, but might retun Sunday

Wow. It sounds like a NY winter (minus the thunderclap- rarely hear that in winter)

:grouphug: to all our "Across the Pond" friends. Hope the weather improves soon. :flower3:
