Oh my gosh, you guys have been really quiet today. And WHERE IS IZZIE??:confused3 Maybe she actually had to work today!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I am so jealous of you guys taking cruises this year. We are still recouping from my youngest daugher's wedding in October. Anyone with girls start saving now!! I wiped out the savings, but I am glad we had that and didn't have to charge tons. I am thankful Bob was still a Sargeant while all that was going on and was still making overtime!!!::yes::
Well, even with Izzie not here, I will never be able to catch up with her unless I write one word on each message. Boy, that would be fun!

True, it may not be worth the $359.00 to everyone, but for Andrew and I it was. This will be the only time we celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was important to us to get Palo for dinner that night. This is the first vacation that we have ever taken just the 2 of us since we had children. (15 years in May) We deserve to splurge a little and live it up! Rose petals on my bed? WOO HOO!!!! I'm not exactly sure what we are supposed to do with them when we go to bed though! Do I just push them off on the floor and have our room steward clean them up in the morning? LOL!
I can see how it may not be for everyone, but for us it was worth it for this once in a lifetime day.

Carolyn yours is an example of when it works well and correctly and I am pleased you benefited for using it, to celebrate your 25th anniversary, maybe my post gave a slightly wrong impression, what I am 'against' its people on the main forum recommending it for the 105 day ''loophole' and not the package, If you use 'every' bit of it as a package its nice, and its worth it for you, but all too many people post on the main forum they recommend it to get Palo or get shore trips, and whip some people up into a panic to purchase it, when they will in fact get the ressies they want for free.

Yours is a prime example of it working well, and for the correct reasons but all to often people book REAS for the wrong ones.

:wave2: everyone. Just dropping in real quick to make sure you all haven't moved on. Got to run to the Vet in 1/2 hr - seems my oldest DD was walking the dogs on Satuday and she stepped on her paw. She's been limping since Saturday and we are hoping her paw isn't broken. My favorite vet is in Irvine about 25 miles away but he's definitely worth it. Be back late hopefully to tell you all what has happend. Just caught Andrew's post - Carolyn - glad to hear that your splurging for your 25th! your right - it only happens once and nowadays not too often - I say - SPLURGE! Enjoy and let the room steward clean up after you - HECK - be naughty and give him something to talk about. :lmao:

:thumbsup2

Yes, this is for the 4-night we have in May, less than 105 days to sailing. Caro & I are celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We had originally planned a 7 night Eastern, but Alana's band will be going to Southern California on the Friday of that week and we wanted to go see them too. It turns out the 4-night is the PODCAST cruise.

First of all:
Congrats on 25 YEARS!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Secondly:
I actually think you can take flowers off the ship if they came on the ship at Port Canaveral. When we went on our 25th Anniversary Cruise to the Western Carrib., I walked into our stateroom and saw the most beautiful dozen roses I had ever (and since) seen in my life. DH arranged with DCL florist to have them there. Every day they just bloomed larger and larger until they each were the size of my opened hand! The fragrance was also incredible. I hated to leave them when we disembarked. At port, I mentioned to one of the crew that maybe they can donate the flowers to a hospital as they were still incredible one week later. They said we could have taken them off the ship as they were taken on in FLA. If I had known that, I might have actually been crazy enough to carry them off the ship. How I would have gotten them home to NY, I have no idea. :confused3 I;m sure you could keep a few petals and stash them somewhere when you leave. :flower3:

Laura,

Good Luck with your dog. Keep us posted. :grouphug:

Laura, hopefully the paw isn't broken. Madison "accidently" let her puppy jump from her arms and the poor baby broke her paw. Yorkie puppies have very tiny bones! The first couple of days she didn't know how to walk with the cast, she kept walking around in cirlces.:rotfl: Before you know it the little speed demon was running faster than everyone here. And oh, the casts were apparently quite yummie!
Oh, and we probably live quite close to each other. What part of OC are you in?

We did our vow renewal on Castaway Cay, the last day of the cruise. Linda walked off carrying her bouquet and nobody said anything about it. The flowers stayed fresh in our hotel room at Universal for the next few days, b ut we decided to leave them there because we had enough stuff to carry on the plane.

Hi Karen :wave2: I'm in Norwalk, about 10 minutes from Disneyland. But I travel alot. So anytime you want to meet, just drop me a line! :thumbsup2

Thank You!

::yes:: OK definately the diva. The girl was limping and whining the whole way up there - took us about 40 minutes with traffic - not too bad for the time of the day but as soon as we left, VOILA! She was not limping too bad. In fact, if you didn't look too carefully you'd of thought she was normal.

Vet says her range of motion and reflexes are good so no broken bones. Said we are lucky we have big dogs because if she was small she could have broken four of her toes. He ended up giving her an anti-anflammatory shot and some horse pills (Deramaxx) which I'm to 1/2 for the next week. So all in all, he says we got off pretty lucky. She is not to horseplay (Good Grief! :scared: ) or walk for one week and no going down stairs. She can walk up the stairs on a leash. Reason being most dogs carry about 60% of their weight on the front paws. Going downhill or down stairs, they will carry all their weight in the front paws. Want to hear the frustrating part? Aside from being cooped up with a very demanding Diva - all the kids called at least2 times today to check up on her. Yeah - they call to check on the dang dog! Oh well, at least they care.

That's ok - DH got his jollies by telling Megan (she's the walker) that it was broke in 3 places and it would cost $6000 to fix her or $200 to put her down. I was :furious: She was  then thought about it and double checked with me. Momma don't play like that. Dogs are sacred around here. But we did decided that I shouldn't take off anymore (we were at our youngest volleyball tournament Saturday) since Isis seems to get hurt every time I take off - last time was a cut paw pad on the EBRC when she got a hold of an aluminum can. Seems DS threw her out in the back and she got bored. See what I mean? :upsidedow

Oh well, Mike did you get last Tuesday off? Did you venture into the bedlam of DC? I would have loved to have gone but decided I'd rather do Europe. I have missed any conversations that took place Anyone attend?

Oops, seems I'm being paged. Talk to you soon.

Wow, no Izzi in all this time, an all-time record for sure!!!!!!!!!! Hope all is well! :grouphug: But many of our missing links came by today, so cool! Anyone see the SAG awards last night.......Meryl Streep had the BEST speech!:thumbsup2 Time for the Batchelor..........:goodvibes

Last Tuesday was the first day of my new rotation, so not only did I not go to DC, I didn't even get to see the innauguration live on TV. I'm too much of a wimp when it comes to being outside in the cold anymore, so I probably wouldn't have gone even if I could, but it would have been cool to watch it while it was happening. Oh well, thank goodness for the endless replays that night.

Hi all:wave2:
The kids had the computer today as well as their friends sleeping over since it was a teacher work day.

I was wondering with a segway tour if when you want to go inside a building do you park it outside ? or do you just drive around for an hour, return it and then go back to the sites you want to really explore ?

I confess I'm one of those who wants the REAS to avoid the dreaded "hassle free" night of 90 days booking:blush:
Part of the reason I want to book as much as possible on my own ahead of time.
Andrew is right though, I've managed fine without it;)
Plus the romance would go to waste as my DH is not the romantic type unfortunately:rolleyes:
I married him for his sense of humor and intelligence-he is clueless when it comes to romance:upsidedow

Sorry, but this so cracked me up:rotfl2:
Both DH and I have that same warped sense of humor:confused3
Now, I would have caved and told her right away that everything was fine though:scratchin

Glad your fur baby (Isis ?) is gonna be ok:thumbsup2

Poor pooch! Why do I think though that this will make her even more of a diva?

OK, I'm a very unromantic person also, but the package still sounds nice!
Barb, I hope you're not the romantic type! It could make things sort of weird! ;) :lmao:

I don't get the whole rose petal thing at all. Why would anyone want to waste pretty flowers by putting them on the floor and the bed?!? :confused3 :upsidedow

I did have the idea today of gathering them up and making potpourri out of them! :confused3
I'm just thinking that if you were lying on them, they'd get stuck on you! I know with me, that would immediatly stop ANY romantic thoughts! I'd be :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
