There are fringe benefits to snow when you're a teacher.......weirdly, this is the first year that my kids won't be off if it snows!

I was talking with DD's counselor last week and she was telling me her school very rarely closes for snow. Another school she's in that doesn't believe in closing for bad weather. :faint:

YOu wanna pick me up at the airport and we'll pick up a cabana boy along the way. I don't need the pool to be warm and I don't need to be under a palm tree, I just want to see them. Margaritas sound very good to me, no salt and on the rocks please. :beach: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I don't care if I never see snow again any place I live. Although I do like to look at in pics and on tv. The older I get the more I despise the yucky white stuff! :sad2:

Well I'm here. And you would see a lot of palm trees in our area!

But that is in the forecast for after the snow. You could have lied and said a cold snap was coming your way then I would have felt better.

Didn't make me feel better.

As I sit here, in between messages knitting a scarf I will probably never wear, I would love to tell you we were having a cold snap on the way.!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I was a child bride.
me too! :rotfl:

Ok, I'll do the math for everyone........I graduated 30 years ago this June, I married Ken 29 years ago, this July........quite frankly, we're a miracle......."and they said it wouldn't last!".......in case you're wondering, our kids are 24, 22, and 18, so no hanky panky, if that's what you were thinking..........:rotfl2:  What's our secret?? Travel. That's how I eventually landed on this website.:cool1:
Hey, we're the same age! I graduated 30 years ago this June! YIKES, where did the time go?
Met Andrew right after my 18th birthday, married 3 weeks before my 23rd birthday, had Alana 10 years later and Kathryn 5 years after that.
I'm not sure what our secret is? Stubbornness, maybe?

Oh, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? This should bring 'er back!

I guess I'll really have to work at it to pass her. It's possible though!

Where, when and how soon can we get there?!? :hyper: ::yes::
I was just looking (and dreaming) at hotels in Australia, it's summer down under. :thumbsup2 :beach:
I was just checking the weather for Auckland, NZ, where my sister is and it's 68 degrees there!

Anyone notice Tizzie was missing all weekend?:confused3

I did. I hope she's not in a 'tizzie' or having a 'tizzie' with the kids or DH. Maybe she's been banned from the laptop by Josh.

'Morning Izzi, you'll be reading this soon. :wave2: :grouphug:

Welcome back, Iz (Tiz).........:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

TA DA !!!!!!! I'm here :woohoo: :woohoo:

Sorry I've been MIA, it was one of "those" weekends, which I will fill you in on just not right now. Also it's end of month time so work this week is really YUK !:crazy2:

In a perverse sort of way it was really, really nice reading all the posts asking where I was, it gave me a warm cuddles feeling in my tummy, it's nice to be missed :grouphug: :grouphug:

I was just checking the weather for Auckland, NZ, where my sister is and it's 68 degrees there!

I spoke to my girlfriend in Melbourne, Aus. yesterday and they were just getting ready for a barbeque :goodvibes forecast for there was 35 deg C ( 35 + 15 = 50, 50 x 2 = 100 deg F) for the next few days :beach: :beach: :beach:

For those of you just pondering about whether or not to get your £s now my advice would be to do it sooner rather than later. Here are a couple of posts from the UK board where we are watching the currency situation VERY closely.

Just found this interesting snippett in This article.

The pound – is it all over?

Unlikely. Goldman Sachs last week told its clients to stick with sterling, which it expects to bounce back quite soon.

Hopefully a bright spot on the horizon! Better get here by May though.

I am still hoping the currency expert they had on sky news was correct. He expected £ to hit a low in the 1st quarter of 2009 at around $1.35 then a recovery in the 2nd quarter up to $1.55 or even $1.60. Going to be a struggle to get back up there.

I figure if my DD can ride one so can I, but I'm a bit of a fraidy cat to try one.
If you want to try it ahead of time, fly here and we'll learn together on the ones my brother has.

Speaking of Segway, this actually is cruise related, when we were in Tallinn last summer there was a Segway shop that was just opening the day we were there. We happened to walk by it when they were having their press interviews. We picked up a brochure and they said they would be doing tours as well as sales. I have to make sure I have the info handy when it gets closer to sailing. I'll also look up to see if they had a website listed so it can go on the 1st post.

Me and the boys have always fancied trying this :goodvibes :goodvibes The boys think it look COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL !!!! Any idea what the age/height restriction is as my Ethan is a little shrimp and theres no way we could do it and leave him out :crazy2:
