I'm jealous. I've always wanted to go the the parade.

I would love to go, I have been to NY before and enjoyed it, I felt it was just like London, and thats a complement, as i love London, I felt relaxed walking around the various districts.

But with many other commitments and the $ not being on our side (at the moment), Its on the back burner for the time being.

Josh and I are watching an amazing BBC documentary called "Oceans". A BBC crew have managed to gain access to some of the most remote parts of our oceans. As both Josh and I are divers and Josh wants to become a marine biologist and oceanographer we are finding it fasinating

WOW I am truely honoured

I watched it last week when I did the sea of Cortez, we sailed there on the Magic in August, stopping at Cabo san Lucas, and the sealife shown on the BBC show was all visable from our verandah.

Going into Cabo was

FAN TAS TIC!​

We saw so much sealife from our verandah! Worth the money by itself, the flying fish, and dolphins were brilliant, that BBC programme brought it all back.

I was a bit let down by Cabo. I don't know if it was beacuse I grew up in Los Angeles and have been to Baja many times or if was beacuse the rest of the family was not doing well due to the heat. I loved Cartagena and thought it was the best of the PC ports.

I really enjoyed both, I had been to both before and knew what I wanted to see, in Cabo we had a DCL Private tour, we hired a car/van in advance by DCL, and had it for four hours, in fact it was longer than the hire period. We had a driver and a guide and I had agreed with them in advance where we wanted to go.

It was so good as we avoided the crowds we had the glass blowing to ourselves, a private show, withour anyone else there, and go to the main sights before the tour buses, and they added places in.

I obtained great photos some are on my trip report.

Cartagena I did the Cartagena delux DCL tour having been there prekids before I wanted them to see it, but didnt want to do a private tour, onl dissapointment was being forced to go to the tourist shops at the end with inflated prices. Beautiful city.

I wasn't in love with Cabo either when we were there on the DCL cruise in 2005.........the street vendors and water taxis were complete ripoff artists and we left there with a very bad sense of that area.

We're at the beginning of the parade, Central Park West around 76 or 75th St., every year! When you see the confetti they shoot off right after 9 AM, we are always so excited to see that a few blocks north because we know the parade is coming.

I agree with you -- I felt much the same about London. My oldest daughter says it's the only place in the world she would consider living other than Manhattan!

I agree that Cartegena was wonderful! The history and architecture was incredible! I'd love to go back there again some day. So many people were amazed that we were going to Columbia, but I really felt safe there.

Yes its funny, me being spot on about the Baltic as far back as April and May this year was attacked by the same person who said I couldn't know and it was pure speculation in a very long post.
They also said DCL would be mad to do the Med again saying it lost lots of money last time and had to discount a lot.

Now thoose who followed the 2010 threads ( there were many) will know I was prity accurate from TA ports of call changing, to 'extra Europe repos, I called them 'phantom cruises' To Russia being included and Malta and Tunis included.

I think now the 'reaction' I am getting now from the same area, might be that I have been proven correct in most cases on our 'exchanges'.

We are off early tomorrow to spend the weekend at my cousins and godmother's house in Staten Island and New Jersey. I have a big ,loud Italian family. I am so thankful for cousins and aunts and godmothers especially since both my parents and Jimmy's parents have passed away.
Holidays are never the same once you loose your parents especially your mother. But, life goes on and you find how vital friends as well as family can be.

I know that your help and knowledge saved me a lot of money and time. I look forward to all your posts and all your pearls of wisdom.
Just another example of people with too much time on their hands, and not being raised properly! This is why I like animals more than people!!!
