As some of you are aware Josh underwent major spinal surgery at the beginning of July last year :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Anyway we had his 6 month checkup with his consult and and everything is looking REALLY good. So much so he can start to slowly wean himself off having to wear the back brace :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo : He now no longer has to sleep in it. He still needs to wear it for school but once he gets home he can take it off.

As he used to swim competitively, and still swam at the club under a coach before the operation, he doesn't need to have physio if he goes back to regularly training a couple of times a week. Again he'll have to start off slowly and he'll get tired very quickly but it's all going in the right direction.

I can't tell you how relieved I am. As some of you know it was a very, very difficult descision to make to have the surgery, but it was the right one and now it's nearly all over.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh Izzi, HOW WONDERFUL!!!!! You see, it really IS a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! I can only imagine how you and Paul must feel (not to mention Josh). But sometimes I think kids don't realize the extent of things and we adults carry the burden for them and us.

Thank you for your kind wishes and cuddles   I really did feel awful having to make that descision last year, I remember crying to my sister that I felt that something dreadful was going to happen as I felt that I'd used all my luck up with the good results from Paul surviving cancer and Ethan's prematurity. Now we have another wonderful good episode but I really, really feel as though I've done my bit with my family and we deserve some peace and quiet now. :flower3: :flower3:

Sorry you're feeling poorly Dan....wishing you get better really soon.:grouphug:

I'm working on it. It was one of those sort throats that turned into chest cold that is lingering....

I'm putting away the Christmas decorations, and I'm not happy about it. Everything looks so plain, dark, and dull when all the lights and sparkles come down. Come on May!

Yes the house looks rather plain without our decorations we took ours down at work on Friday night, weather doesn't help just cold and dank.

Been watching our TV a lot as they just announced who is going to be our new Doctor Who a young actor Matt Smith takes over in 2010.

We put all our decorations away as well and both Paul and I said how wonderful it looked all clean and tidy again :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Out of interest Mike why the "Come on May" :confused3 :confused3

Our good luck continues! We are at the airport and offered to get bumped and it worked! 400.00 flight vouchers and a night in a hotel! WOO HOO! The only downside is we don't get home until midnight tomorrow and we have school and work Monday morning.

Once Christmas and New year's are over, I'm ready for spring. And I'm especially anxious for it this year as I graduate in May. It's been a long 6 & 1/2 years, less than 5 months to go!

Congrats! We usually only get offered a bump when we really need to be somewhere at a certain time, so it's been a long time since we had a crdit like that.

They ended up not bumping us after all. The gate agent was sure she was going to need us as the flight was oversold by more than 20, but 15 or so never checked in.

We are back home now. Our luggage decided to take a later flight from Atlanta and will be here in the morning.

Talk to you all later,
