7/16 Gringotts this morning

We are here, HRH, now. Did FJ via EE this am for the first time ever -- as tribute to the English theme -- 'brilliant!' ride etc etc etc etc :worship:

Going to Blue Man tonight -- may try 6am Gringotts tomorrow (as per everyone's experience/recommendation) -- or wait until Saturday (Friday is a all day at Aquatica) --- wish us luck!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the updates on this.

Thanks for the updates on this.

Glad you're enjoying it!

carly, since your sig shows you have 4 months to go for your next trip, it could be a different situation for wait times when you are there.

Here's one.

I am planning on going to Universal over three days - August 3, 4, 5.

IOA early admission starts at 8am. Studios at 9am.

Would it be possible/plausible to ride the Express over and beat the entrance lines, or does it start later?

I am guessing with an opening at 9 (early park entrance at 8) it might REALLY let early opens in in the neighborhood of 7:40?

If that's the case - could or should I enter IOA early entrance at 7am, and then ride over?

Don't do that. HE drops you off in London...not Diagon Alley. You will be behind a bunch of people headed into Diagon Alley.

My ticker is from last year at Disney- don't know how to change it. We are going in 3 weeks.

If it's worth anything -- went to DA today …. bloody brilliant. The whole experience / area puts everything else to shame. No really, IMO it makes Disney World and the rest of Universal seem rather pedestrian.

Back to the topic at hand - have not done GG yet - spoke to the attendant at the door/entrance. She said that if you're there at say 7:45am, you're realistically looking at a 90 minute + wait right now. After 9am it's anyone's guess.

We showed up at DA at 10:30ish -- after doing FJ and few other rides -- had a blast at Marvel (especially Hulk) - it was a 3 hour wait at GG (not that we were even thinking of trying to go on before we came). FYI: The ride broke down today -- not too long --- when we were there.

FYI getting on the Hogwart's Express in either direction -- no problems/easy.

The huge queue's they built were totally unnecessary.

While most times we rode with little wait, our last day we rode around noon and the entire queue was packed. We rode from the London side. We waited over an hour. My husband and son really wanted to ride one last time, so we waited in the long line.

My 2 days trying to ride the new Gringott's bank ride:

Got into the line at 6:30 pm on July 24th. Line said 180 minutes. I have never seen so many people in line as I saw that afternoon! When we finally finished the ride (loved it by the way), we had been in line about 100 minutes. It would have been quicker if the ride had not broken down several times. When we first entered the line, we did not move for 15 minutes. Then we would slowly move - then we would stop for 10 minutes or so. It was a very slow process. When it was finally our time to ride, both sides were operational.

Got to US at 8:00 this morning. Did not try for early entry as we did not want to have to leave the PBH at 5:00 am. Teens decided to get into the single rider line at that point. It took them 120 minutes to ride single rider at 8:00. When they finally got off the ride, they said it had broken with them still on the ride. They sat in the car for about 30 minutes with the lights on. After finally getting the ride back working, they let my teens stay on for another ride and it didn't break down this time.

This may be surprising, but the vertical drop section is a horribly uncomfortable position for the ride to auto-e for 5-10 minutes. We were eventually reset to horizontal and offered a reride once we got off.

Never a dull moment.

Does anyone know what time they allow people to enter the parking garages?
I assume the earliest is 7am since the parks open at 8, but anyone know if any earlier?

one hour before park opening.

if EE is at 8 then garage opens at 7

one of the mods stated that in another thread, just passing the same info on as you probably did not notice it.

i JUST noticed a thread that asked that same question. Thanks, though!

anytime homie.

when someone is new to the darkside forums, it might be hard to figure out where you can ask questions.

some will ask questions about parking in the main forum and others will ask in the second forum that is listed for the darkside.

and then there are times i will see something like that in the seaworld forum..

but you have your answer now and you're good to go!

i'm going to throw a wrench into your question.

a few times i rented a car and came from another hotel.
wanted to hit the parks in mid june and thought to myself, surely the garage would be open earlier than the hour before its official opening......

so i got to the garage at 6:00 am.
you guessed it.
my kids and i sat in the car near the entrance to the garage and sat a couple of hoursl. it wasn't that bad but what made it worse, one of my kids had been slurping down cans of soda and needed to get to a bathroom ten minutes ago.....had to leave and find a place i could him to

took care of this business and came back to the front

no other cars there so it was not a wash for us

Wow -- been here 3 days longest posted wait time was 10 mins every time we rode/passed by ..... maybe we were just lucky.

maybe you were there at the right time.....

hope you are enjoying the dark side!

Thanks we're still here having fun. Spent the day at Aquatica -- great until the weather killed it :furious: .... oh well still had a great time. :joker:

Doing the 6am Gringotts EE line-up special tomorrow am.

Question -- do we just go to the main gate/arched entrance section and line up there, I assume?

Thanks!
