Anyone else signed up for this sailing? Would love to have a FE group! Always a favorite of my kids

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list pixiedust:
Have a great cruise!

I'm on this cruise! It's just my youngest son and I, my older 2 will be at Boy Scouts camp. My best friend is also signed up to go with us, but now doesn't know if she will be able to.

Yay! I was begining to think we would be alone in the cruise. Hoping more folks show up so we can do a FE exchange. It's always a highlight.

My kids have no idea about the cruise. We plan to surprise them that morning. Should be a lot of fun if we don't spill the beans!

My son doesn't know we're going either. How many kids do you have. I'm surprised we haven't had an active thread with it being this late in the game. I even searched Facebook and couldn't find anything.

My youngest will be 6 and my oldest will turn 11 on the cruise. We're also doing a few days at WDW pre-cruise. That is also a surprise :)

Hello, I have been lurking the cruise meets board for a while and was starting to think this ship might be empty for our sailing ... (Lol). We are doing this sailing with my immediate and extended family. In my immediate family the is myself, DH, and 2 DD (10 & 15). In my extend family there is my DF, DS, and my niece with her family of four and my other niece. Except for the four of us and my father it will be everyone's first cruise. For the rest of us it will be cruise #10 (looking forward to reaching platinum). This will only be our second on the Dream as most of our cruises have been on the Magic (and 1 on the wonder). The kids are looking forward to being back on the Dream. :) I'm just happy to be on any cruise :)

Wow 10 congrats! Platinum status here you come. This will be our fourth Disney cruise. We are also DVC members and I run in some of the run Disney events so we're always spending our money with the mouse.

Anyone plan on doing any fun shore excursions? I will be doing the castaway cay 5k but besides that we have nothing planned... Yet

I'm not sure what we will be doing in Nassau yet. Last cruise we did Atlantis and the kids had a blast, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money for it again. Besides I feel we should do something new. We are toying between the astrada gardens (I think that is the name) and the fort Junkanoo (?) excursions. Would like the kids to experience the island a little.

I was also toying with the 5k on castaway Cay, just to walk it though. I have not been very active the last two years, so I've been trying to condition on the treadmill. So we will see how it goes. I have to be very careful with not overdoing it, so I am taking baby steps.

I did the CC5k last July and it was VERY hot and most of it is down the airstrip so not much shade. I am by no means a fast runner but I do run several times a week and know my pace and I was way behind that day due to heat. It was fun and I will do it again though.

We have been to Nassau a few times (used to live in south Florida and went there often). Not sure we'll cough up the money for the Atlantis but it would be a lot of fun. Last time I think my boys went on the submarine excursion and I shopped :)

YAY-another cruiser! Welcome aboard! Living in Florida I get take advantage of some great deals! This will be number 26 for me. Don't remember what this will be for my youngest that's coming with me. He is Platinum though.

I was thinking about the 5K, but if my best friend doesn't go I don't know what to with my son. It will be way too hot for him. I just got done with Glass Slipper Challenge a couple of weeks ago. I am definitely not a runner or a jogger. I walked the whole thing. My first RunDisney was the Princess Half last year. I am now signed up for Expedition Everest 5K, Tower of Terror 10 miler, and Wine & Dine. It really is dipping into my cruise funds!

I will only be getting off in Nassau to go to the Tortuga Rum place to get our coffee and some dark rum that I use to make rum punch. My son won't even get off.

We are also DVC owners-helps with those RunDisney events

Fivepin I just finished the Glass Slipper too! I injured my achilles right before the race and ended up slow jogging/limping most of them but I did it :).

I know my DS will want to run it even though they won't let him "officially". He is going to run the Peachtree Road Race with me this year just before the cruise.

Were you on the Facebook page?

At least you finished. I finished in the bottom of the pack, but I finished! What corral were you in?

No I don't think so. I am not on Facebook right now (too much drama). I did finish but my friend didn't finish the half and didn't get her medal :(
We actually had someone in or group who was very unpleasant (to put it nicely) so not sure I will do it with them again.

Do your kids run with you? I am debating doing TOT this fall because the oldest really wants to run a Disney race. But I might put it off and do marathon weekend instead.

So jealous of you über-cruisers! I wish we were closer and could do more!

I hate drama....the FB page was actually helpful to me. Learned quite a bit from the ladies. Sorry your friend didn't get the medal....next time. It was just me and my friend, but we were in different corrals. I couldn't afford to move down to hers-need the buffer. You can do it with us :)

My oldest-14 did TOT for the first time for his birthday last year. He brought a friend. Saw him at the start and then at the finish line where he waited for me. He ran some of it. This year my 2 oldest will do TOT. We are doing Expedition Everest as a family. My husband is not into the whole thing. Wine and Dine will just be my friend and I-due to soccer for my oldest. So, he will miss one soccer game for WDW marathon weekend. His favorite character is Donald so wants the Donald bling for the half.

Living close to the port does have its advantages. This trip was a last minute thing for my youngest and I. Looking at the calendar and seeing the boys were going to be gone along with my husband, I thought what do I want to do with my youngest? So, here we are. Don't know how I'm going to tell him yet. My oldest will be in Philmont, NM with my husband on a big Boy Scout hike-July8-22. My middle-12 will be in Rainey Mountain, GA for a one week Boy Scout camp.

The Rainey Mountain camp isn't too far from us actually. We live outside of Athens, GA and coincidentally are heading up that way tomorrow. We are hosting an exchange student this semester and with the crummy weather we haven't been able to do much outside stuff with him, so we're off to Tallulah Gorge and the Dillard House with him tomorrow (they are literally a couple of miles from Rainey Mountain).

I am so tempted to do TOT. I really want to but this last race put a bad taste in my mouth (so to speak) with all the drama. I know it would be better with just family though. My oldest isn't 14 yet so he could only do the 5K, but I would run the 10 miler.

My husband is having a very tough time keeping the trip a secret from the kids. We are going to resort hop the days before the cruise (OKW and then WL), and on that morning pack up and say we're off to another resort (but visiting some family in Melbourne first) but instead head to the port. The whole trip is a secret and a surprise for their birthdays. Last year we did a 7 day on the Fantasy over the July 4th holiday and it coincided with our youngest's birthday, and this one will be over the oldest's.

Love surprising them!!

My oldest did the Rainey Mountain camp 2 summers ago and loved it except the rain they got everyday.

For the 10 miler you don't have to be 14-that's for the half. You only have to be 12 for 10 miler.

He'll only be 11, so maybe next year for him.

BTW are you running the Legoland 5K next month? It coincides with our trip and I ran it last year. It's a lot of fun!

All the race talk is really making me want to do the Castaway Cay 5k. But the talk about it being Hot and no shade makes me think I will skip it. I hate being told I can't do something, but since this is vacation I don't want to do the walk and then have to spend the rest of the trip on recovery or have something worse happen, I have to be very careful of heat and over exertion. So I think I will just live vicariously through you all. Be sure to post lots of pics for the rest of us post cruise.
