7/13/13 ~~ Eastern Mediterranean Mouseketeers!

What are you fellow Canadians booking for flights? Direct into Barcelona from Canada or connecting from Paris or Heathrow?

We are coming from Victoria so unfortunately 2 stops, but it was cheaper than anything out of Vancouver. Going Victoria, Calgary, Amsterdam, Barcelona on Westjet/KLM.

Hey Jimmyjackjunior! We both hail from Victoria! How many cruises have you done?

So you're staying at the Aura as well? Flying back aircanada at 11:55am?

Question about canadian flights. I looked and found good prices on flightnetwork and flighthub. Asked my TA at Sears Travel if she could match it and she could with a $61 upcharge each. Well, I would rather book through Sears than one of the above so I took the flights. We are flying air canada and paying about $1200 less for 5 of us than with air canada and I have all the same benefits...collect aeroplan points and only have to pay $400 a ticket if I need to cancel which saves on insurance costs. I'm super happy.

We're flying Vancouver to Paris, the Barcelona to Vancouver. The Paris to Barcelona flight I booked with Easyjet and it was around $380 for all 5 tickets and that includes 2 checked bags (total).

I wonder how many of us are staying at the Aura? We are a family of 5 with 3 boys ages 17,14 and the youngest turns 12 on July 24:)

slg - My endemic memory says you were on our last cruise as well. Alaska - July 2011. We are flying out of Victoria to Calgary, Amsterdam and Barcelona. Five hours in Calgary, but we are hoping to have lunch with my wife's grandparents. I have my birthday as well on the cruise - July 22.

What is everyone's plans for Barcelona - We were going to get up early on the cruise depart day and wander down the Ramblas. When we get back on the 25th we were going to go see some of the Gaudi sites and on the 26th we were going to go see Montserrat.

Jimmyjackjunior.

We are going via Vancouver because I wanted to visit my parents who live there before we went. The price is good $1380 each including taxes and only one connection. Super short in Montreal on the way there, just 45 minutes and about 3 hours on the way back in Toronto (which is good because we need to go through customs.

I knew you had been on another cruise we had been on, but I couldn't remember which one (since this is number !)

I don't know what we are doing post-cruise on the 25th yet. We are going to be in Barcelona 3 days pre-cruise so I'll see what we have left to see:)

We were on the same cruise! I was disappointed because Russia was on my "bucket list", and I may never get the chance to go back. I tried making the best of it though. Even went and saw the production of Swan Lake in the evening, which was fantastic!!!!! So much of the world I want to see!!! :moped:

We were on the same Baltic cruise too :) We actually didn't mind the heat. Honestly, we looked at it as a once in a life time experience. I'm really hoping the heat won't be too bad on this one.

Same here. I couldn't let it ruin my time after making it there! I just wasn't prepared as everyone told me it would be on the cooler side. So to walk into 102 degree heat was quite a shock, to say the least.

This time I'll be more prepared as I'm expecting it to be hot...ugggh, doesn't mean I'll like it, but at least I'll be better prepared ;)

I know what you mean by being prepared! Lots of long sleeve tshirts and I only threw in a couple of tank tops at the last minute...it was HOT! And we were in London for 12 days afterwards and it was HOT there too. I guess mentally we weren't prepared, but since I expect it to be HOT I think it'll be fine.

We have booked Ephisus through melitours and the afternoon playmobile tour - my kids are totally happy about that one. Thanks for the heads up Newfoundland Sailor.

Have I missed the DCL excursions in Greece and Turkey? Shouldn't they be up by now?

Someone posted on the June Greece/Turkey Disboard that they have spoken to DCL and they are saying it will be up before 120 days prior to their departure date -- so within another 15 days!

That is what I remember from Alaska two years ago as well - 120 days out. They kind of screw themselves over by waiting so long. I have already booked for Rome and Turkey. Only thing I will do with Disney now is the Historical Scavenger Hunt in Malta. Everything else I can do on my own or book a tour guide at the sites in Athens.

I wonder why they are taking so long? All the other tours are up.

slg - any reason they need to be Disney? Only reason I can think of is guaranteed to return to the boat on time. I have used the Rick Steeves book for recommendations.

But isn't our cruise still 165 days away? That would mean another 45 days if it's 120 days out, right? Or am I missing something?? :confused3

It is 120 days from the first cruise which is middle of June.(there are only the two cruises)

I was just on the DCL website. The choice of Epheseus and Piraeus (Athens) is now available -- a message appears that "There were no results to match your search."

BUT it means the excursions are imminent!!!!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone, and Greetings from the June 15th sailing! We are so excited about DCL having the excursions up, but so much to choose from - and some ports to figure out on our own! I popped over here to see what y'all might be planning!

You would be my hero if you could provide navigators when you get back. Probably a couple of others too.

Can experienced cruisers tell me why the excursions have to be Disney's. Just wondering. I have done six of them on my two cruises and I have never taken a Disney one. Partially because of cost, partially because they are always so late posting them.
