7/12 & Christmas decorations STILL up!

My "white trash" (that's ANOTHER story for another time) neighbors still have their frickin large Christmas stuffed penguin display sitting in their front picture window! Complete with Santa hats & scarves. Ugh. :furious:

Since we share the driveway, I have to see it everytime I pull in.

Jeesh, people, might as well leave it up at this point! Christmas is only 166 days away. Yes, I counted.

That's a good reason to have a good HOA if I ever heard one.

You know when I first started reading this thread I thought...yeah they're lazy ;) ...Christmas in July  ...ready for next year :confused3 ....BUT when you posted about the acts, all of a sudden I stopped. Do you think that there is any way he might be using the penguin as a lure to have children come by and look at it? Not that he's trying to get kids in the house, but just to look at them and then maybe satisfy something inside his mind. If he just had the penguin...no problem(just a little lazy), but add the second item...I begin to think something might be up.

Good thought. But we are at a time here when very few children live here. There aren't any under the age of 16 that I can think of. His girlfriends youngest is about 16 & he has some friends over. But no other kids in neighborhood riding bikes or playing outside that I ever see.

Really, I think he "prefers" adults. ;) Especially company of residents.

Well at least that is good news...

Christmas decorations inside the house still up. Nope have never done that. :lmao: But I do still have my Christmas lights up outside on the roof. Frog took everything down and it got dark so he left them up on the roof peak. :lmao: I'm not getting on a ladder and getting them down. :rotfl:

Who knows maybe the dude just likes pengins. I have a friend that collects them he has hundreds of them either stuffed or in pictures even clothes (pj's mostly). Yeah he's just a little obsessed but we love him. :lmao:

Seriously though sorry your having problems with your neighbors. Hey maybe they will move!

I guess all the decorating is done already for christmas this year!

With the Christmas penguin ?!?

Well, thanks for that; I had soda shoot out my nose.

I can't stand Christmas decorations up all year long.

Some people do collect that stuff though. DH's grandmother collects snowmen and they are up all year.

#1) They aren't rednecks unless they leave their lights up all year long (it's one of the criteria...)

#2) Penguins rule. They're the best. Who wouldn't want penguins around all year long? Penguins make everything better!

My DW and I collect penguins and have penguins all over the house - stuffed penguins, penguin magnets, penguin window stickers, penguin pictures, etc.

We have a Christmasy / Wintery penguin sticker in the window over our sink that has been up for almost 2 years and will stay until we move.

(Moderators: We need a penguin smiley, btw. :thumbsup2 )

I don't know how anyone could ever watch video of penguins walking around and stuff and not smile. They're just so darn amusing! :) Waddle, flop, hop, swim, etc. They just can't help but make you smile and/or laugh. :teeth: :lmao:

And in case anyone else wants to find any penguin related items for gifts or to start your own collection, head over to www.penguinplace.com :thumbsup2
