7/11 rule apply to cash reservatons?

I asked this on another board but got not response. We want to book a couple nights cash @ OKW for our November trip. Our home is SSR...do we have to wait until 7 months?

I believe if you want to use the 25% DVC discount on cash reservations you must wait 7 months out. I'm not betting my ridiculous government salary on it but I believe thats the rule.

You don't have to wait. My home is SSR and AKV and I have already made a cash ressie for November at BWV. The MS person I spoke with wasn't sure so she asked a supervisor and was told cash could be booked at anytime including non home resort, if it is available for cash. If you are told no have MS ask a supervisor. Susan

Cash ressies (if what you want is available) are availabe at 11 months. I booked one for AKV for this July in Oct. and asked MS about the rule at that time. I also had to call at least 3 diff. times to hit it just right and find a value studio! They say to keep calling every week or so as the inventory changes all the time.

Yup - 11 months on the cash ressies. I reserve VB on cash at 11 months and then try to get a room on points at 7.

Yup, 11 months, that's what we just did at a Non-home resort. If you really want to stay a certain place, whether on points or Member's cash, you can get the nights on cash at 11 months, then try for points at 7 months (understanding that points/cash come from separate "pots" so points may not be available).
