7/11-month window question

In 2043 will I have to wait till the 7-month window to book a 2br BWV SV...? Since I’ll only have SSR points at that time!

No one knows if OKW, BWV, BCV, VWL, HH & VB will be even part of the DVC resorts in 2042. For all anyone knows, SSR pts and any other new DVC resort points, may be totally worthless at the orginal DVC resorts after 2042.

When the BWV contracts expire on Jan 31, 2042, there will no longer be anyone paying dues to run and maintain the resort. So it's not clear what Disney will do with it but it will probably not be a DVC resort if there are no owners left to pay the bills. If it becomes a non-DVC resort then you might be able to stay there on points the way you do at AKL or the Poly, but that is likely to be very expensive.

Also, some people on the boards have speculated that it's going to be difficult for the owners at the 2042 resorts to use up all of their points before the end date, so Disney might have to restrict those resorts to home resort points only in the last few years. So in reality, you might not get to use SSR points at BWV starting sometime in 2040.

But don't fret-- it sounds like DVC at the Contemporary and at AKL are good possibilities and who knows what they might build after that!

As it stands now, BWV, VB, HHI, OKW, BCV & VWL will not be part of the DVC after January 31, 2042. You will not be able to book a points stay at any of them after 1/31/2042 under the current rules.
